Het Theater van Dionysus is een oud Grieks theater in Athene. Het is gebouwd op de zuidhelling van de Akropolis-heuvel, oorspronkelijk onderdeel van het heiligdom van Dionysus Eleuthereus. Het eerste orkestterras werd gebouwd rond het midden tot het einde van de zesde eeuw voor Christus, waar de stad Dionysia werd gehouden.
Het Odeon van Herodes Atticus is een stenen Romeins theatergebouw op de zuidwestelijke helling van de Akropolis van Athene, Griekenland. Het gebouw werd voltooid in 161 na Christus en vervolgens gerenoveerd in 1950.

The tour guide was excellent and gave us a lot of interesting information about the Acropolis and Pathenon. Well worth the money. We went on the 8.30am tour. With the heat of summer best to do early in the morning
Our tour guide was super nice & definitely gave a lot of historical context to the entirety of the Acropolis & the pieces in the museum! She had a very calm demeanor at all times and ensured that we were all kept together before continuing on with the next sections. It was a great experience overall and definitely would highly recommend it to anyone visiting for the first time!

Costas is an amazing tour guide with a deep knowledge of the history of Ancient Greece. (I think he said he has a master's degree in archeology.) We thoroughly enjoyed this tour with him and highly recommend it. As 60-somethings, we had some concerns about how strenuous the climb would be up to the Acropolis, but Costas did a great job of taking us from one shady spot to another as we made the climb, and while we stood in the shade to rest, he told us more about the place. He did a great job at keeping the group together and moving us around a very busy site and he was very attentive to the group's needs. He also had a notebook of pictures and illustrations that he showed us throughout the tour to help us understand what these ancient sites may have actually looked like in their heyday. We learned so much about the Acropolis, and he also took us through the Acropolis Museum (this is an option you can choose - I highly recommend adding this to your tour). His comments throughout the museum were insightful and interesting. We booked the 8 am tour in June, and it was already pretty warm up there at that time of day. Going to the museum afterward was nice, because we had a chance to cool off in the air conditioning. This tour uses the whispers (audio ear pieces), which made it very easy to hear him. He recommended a place for lunch nearby called Opos Palia, and the food was great and inexpensive.
Highly recommend this tour to give you a feel for the time. Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared lots of stories of the "Greek Gods" of the time. It was very interesting to hear the stories again. We all really enjoyed it.
Try to go early, very little shade up on the Acropolis and mid day it gets very hot. Bring water. Other than that the tour guide was great and it was a very informative tour. Highly recommend
We did the 8:00 AM tour with Kostos including the museum. He provided us with an amazing experience and was very knowledgeable about all the history. I would 100% recommend. The tour provided information that we would’ve never gotten on our own.
