Beschrijving
Onze tour kan beginnen door u op te halen van het vliegveld en u naar uw hotel te brengen of andersom door u op te halen van uw hotel en u aan het einde van de tour naar het vliegveld te brengen. Houd er rekening mee dat de luchthaventransfers, aankomst of vertrek op dezelfde dag van de tour moeten plaatsvinden. Omdat het een privétour is, kunt u de starttijd kiezen en de bezoeken aanpassen aan uw comfort. Als u de tour eerder moet beëindigen, is er geen probleem, er is geen haast als u de bezoeken langzaam wilt of moet maken. Ons privévervoer brengt ons naar Yanahuara en dan keren we terug naar het centrum van Arequipa dat een cultureel werelderfgoed is, en we maken een wandeltocht, waarbij we het koloniale verleden van Arequipa en zijn huidige cultuur verkennen en ontdekken. Arequipa is een stad met veel geschiedenis, traditie, natuurlijke en culturele diversiteit. Welkom reizigers!

U kunt het plein en het uitzichtpunt van deze traditionele wijk bezoeken, vanwaar u de vulkanen die de stad omringen kunt zien. We observeren ook de koloniale kerk gebouwd met vulkanische steen en de gids zal uitleggen waarom dit gebied wordt beschouwd als een van de meest romantische in Arequipa.
Mundo Alpaca Arequipa vertegenwoordigt een grote culturele en toeristische bijdrage aan de Witte Stad - de wereldhoofdstad van Alpaca - die probeert onze duizendjarige culturele rijkdom bloot te leggen en naar de wereld te brengen, zodat bezoekers de Alpaca-ervaring kunnen waarderen en "beleven", in directe interactie met deze dieren in een prachtige natuurlijke omgeving. Bovendien zullen ze de voorouderlijke techniek van handmatige classificatie van de vezel live kunnen zien, evenals de tentoonstelling van het buitengewone traditionele proces van het backstrap-weefgetouw. We zullen ook de vicuña-vezel observeren, aanraken en leren, die als de beste ter wereld wordt beschouwd.
Waarschijnlijk de kerk met de grootste religieuze artistieke expressie in de stad, hier vindt u mestizo-barokke gevels, prachtige altaren versierd met bladgoud en koloniale schilderijen.
Deze markt wordt beschouwd als cultureel erfgoed van de natie, omdat het niet alleen een basisvoorzieningscentrum is, maar deel uitmaakt van de culturele ontwikkeling van Arequipa en een duidelijk voorbeeld is van de levende cultuur en de hedendaagse economische beweging van de stad. Op deze markt vind je allerlei typische producten uit Arequipa en andere regio's van Peru, hier is er een grote diversiteit aan fruit, aardappelen en natuurlijke producten, evenals geneeskrachtige planten die erg populair zijn binnen de lokale cultuur.
Het is een van de belangrijkste historische monumenten in Arequipa, daterend uit 1677 en heeft een prachtige koloniale architectuur, die opvalt door zijn prachtige kolommen met details in hoog reliëf.
We betreden de Mario Vargas LLosa regionale bibliotheek (Nobelprijswinnaar voor literatuur), een gebouw van republikeinse architectuur en levende cultuur
Plaats van oprichting van de stad gelegen in het historische centrum van Arequipa, dat wordt beschouwd als een cultureel erfgoed van de wereld. Plaza de armas wordt omringd door de kathedraal en de stenen portalen die ons de overgang van de kolonie naar de republikeinse tijd tonen. We gaan naar het uitkijkpunt van de portalen vanwaar we het plein zullen observeren, omringd door de indrukwekkende vulkanen Misti, Chachani en Pichu Pichu.
Via San Francisco Street zullen we toegang krijgen tot het gelijknamige plein, dat het op een na belangrijkste is in het historische centrum (na de Plaza de Armas), zowel vanwege zijn schoonheid als zijn historische relevantie.
We wandelen door de oudste straten van de stad gelegen in de traditionele wijk San Lázaro, momenteel een recreatie- en rustgebied voor binnen- en buitenlandse toeristen.

We had a fantastic time with Julio. He picked us up promptly from our hotel and we started by going to 2 beautiful viewpoints. He then took us to Mundo Alpaca, followed by a city tour ending in the Santa Catalina monastery. Throughout the day, Julio gave us great insights and information about everything we were seeing and he also took some great photos of us. We feel that this tour gives you a great overview of Arequipa and it's very well organized and executed. Highly recommended.

I can't imagine a better way to get to know a city with its many sights than with a personal guide. Our guide Julio was perfect in every respect. Immediately after picking us up from the airport, he took us to viewpoints of the city and the surrounding area on the drive towards the city center. His English was excellent and communication and conversation were guaranteed. The guided tour on foot through the city center with its various tourist destinations and his competent knowledge of all the places visited was impressive. I went with this tour because of the strong reviews and after having done it with a friend, I can honestly say it's even better than I expected. JULIO is amazing, has a rich knowledge of history and culture of the city and country, and is so thoughtful in providing really interesting info because he understands the people he is guiding. This is one of the best guides I've experienced and highly recommend Julio.

This was by far the best tour I think I will ever experience! Julio is so knowledgeable not only about Arequipa, but about EVERYTHING Peruvian history and politics and architecture and art and so much more! My flight arrived to Arequipa at 8:30 am and Julio picked me up from the airport and showed me beautiful viewpoints from which I could see the three tall mountains and the valley. Then, I got to feed and pet alpacas and llamas! I also learned about vicuñas and the different wool types and saw how they process the wool. I learned about the pre- and post-colonial history of the area, and Julio explained how the Spanish incorporated Incan mythologies and lore into the carvings of the various cathedrals. The architecture was so beautiful! We explored the Plaza de Armas and then he took me to the Santa Catalina Monastery. What a gorgeous monastery! The tour guide there, Celia, took me on an hour-long tour of the life of the nuns within the walls of the monastery. Celia was so full of wonderful information and answered all the questions I had even before I could ask them! :) It’s hard to pick a favorite part to this incredible day! We ended on a highlight - the Museo Santuarios Andinos. There, Julio described the Incan culture and rituals, and I got to see the beautifully preserved frozen Inca girl “Juanita”. I learned all about the Incan lifestyle - foods, clothing, textiles, rituals, art, metallurgy - that scientists gleaned from studying her remains. This was an amazing tour all around Arequipa! Julio is the best guide and is so full of information and is so passionate about it and is so easy to talk to and learn from! This tour was nearly 9 hours long and every single minute of it was incredible - easily the best tour I will ever have in my life. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough! Thank you, Julio! :)

From the start of planning via email Alejandra and Julio made our visit to Arequipa sensational. Julio met us at the airport and we were able to visit the Sillar Route, Yanahuara and a delightful restaurant. We loved the hotel recommendation and we were so happy that we booked a second day to do a city tour including the Monasterio de Santa Catalina and Plaza de Armas. Arequipa is a lovely city. It was made immeasurably more enjoyable because we had Julio's local expertise and superb driving skills to show us around. After spending a couple days in Lima, Arequipa finally provided me with what felt like a real Peruvian experience. The food there was also what we were looking for and much better than food in Lima. Julio was a stellar guide with a big heart and a very deep knowledge of his history. The private aspect of the tour also really helped elevate the experience. I had a really great experience on my private walking tour of Arequipa with Julio. He took me to the most important and interesting places in the city and is extremely knowledgeable. His passion for the town was contagious. Also we had wonderful conversations more generally about life in Peru and I really felt I got a different insight than I could have possibly gotten on my own.
