Airlie Beach : Kangoeroes op het strand bij Sunrise Eco Wildlife Tour

Voor zonsopgang staat de bus voor je deur, het is een vroege start maar het is de moeite waard. De rit naar het zuiden duurt 1,5 uur en tegen de tijd dat je Cape Hillsborough National Park bereikt, komt het licht net boven de Koraalzee en de kangoeroes trekken al naar het strand. Deze dieren zijn helemaal wild. Geen hekken, geen voershows, geen begeleiders. Ze naderen op hun eigen voorwaarden — tot op een halve meter — als ze bij zonsopgang langs het zand foerageren. Uw geaccrediteerde EcoGuide staat altijd naast u en vertelt u waar u naar kijkt en waarom Cape Hillsborough een van de weinige plaatsen in Australië is waar dit elke ochtend op natuurlijke wijze gebeurt. Na zonsopgang kookt de groep samen het Drovers Breakfast : spek en loempia, warme Franse perskoffie en authentieke Aussie Vegemite om te proberen als je durft, terwijl je uitkijkt over het regenwoud aan de kust. 3:00 uur vertrek van uw accommodatie. Chauffeur heeft een bord en draagt een groen shirt. Reistijd ongeveer 1 uur en 30 minuten zuidwaarts langs de kust volgend hotel Collecties.
Ga voor zonsopgang het Nationaal Park in voordat je het strand opgaat.
Wilde oosterse grijze kangoeroes en wallabies komen bij zonsopgang uit de struik het strand op. Volledig wild en vrij rondlopen. De dieren naderen vrij — vaak tot op een halve meter. Let op : flitsfotografie, voeding, aanraking, geluid, luidsprekers of zaklampen zijn niet toegestaan. De gecertificeerde gidsen zullen u briefen voordat u het strand opstapt.
Nadat de zon goed en wel aan de hemel staat en de Kangoeroes zijn vertrokken, kookt de groep samen het Drovers Breakfast met uitzicht op het water. Broodjes spek en loempia, Franse perskoffie, Vegemite om de Australische manier te proberen als je durft.
We keren terug naar Airlie Beach waar je om ongeveer 9:30 uur wordt afgezet bij je accommodatie. De rest van de dag kun je op je gemak verkennen.

- Kangoeroe en wallaby waarnemingen zijn zeer waarschijnlijk, maar kunnen niet worden gegarandeerd. Dieren zijn helemaal wild. Het gedrag van wilde dieren varieert.
- Geen flitsfotografie, geen dieren voeren, geen dieren aanraken, geen lawaai, geen speakers, geen zaklampen of fakkels, geen insectenwerend middel.
- Niet roken, geen alcohol, geen drugs, geen dronkenschap, geen minderjarigen zonder begeleiding.
- Niet rolstoeltoegankelijk. Kinderwagen toegankelijk. Dichtbij openbaar vervoer. Zuigelingen op schoot tijdens transport. De meeste reizigers kunnen deelnemen. Maximaal 20 gasten per vertrek.
- De tour vertrekt om 3 uur 's nachts en keert om ongeveer 9 uur 's morgens terug. Duur: 6,5 uur.

Wow ! What an experience . So worth the very early alarm call . It’s was amazing to see the kangaroos and wallabies on the beach at sunrise. There is a warden on the beach who lays out treats for the kangaroos . You can get quite close . Once the sun rises you also can see the beauty of the Park and beach area . When we arrived there was not many people , a little later on quite a few more people arrived . We were collected from our hotel at 2.24am, it’s was approx 2 hrs to get there , on the way back we stopped in an ‘ ‘American Diner ‘ for bacon and egg burgers , they were gorgeous. Back at our hotel just after 9am Our driver was Cara , she was lovely and chatty and was giving us information about the area . It was a small group of 6 , just right .

Thanks to our guide, D, for a great experience! We saw kangaroos and wallabies close up. D is extremely knowledgeable and I learned many new things about these animals. We also stopped at a beautiful waterfall on the way back where you could take a dip. Park fee and a hot breakfast were included in the price so you don't have to think too much before getting on the bus in the wee hours of the morning.

We had a wonderful trip with D. He is super nice, gives any info and makes the trip very entertaining and fun :) The breakfast was delicious and was totally lovingly prepared. The highlight was of course the kangaroos on the beach! Insanely impressive and you have over an hour there. Since we still had a bit of time, he also drove us to a waterfall. Thanks for everything!
