Een van de hoogtepunten van de tour, deze rustige boottocht neemt je mee door de Tortuguero kanalen, vaak de "Amazone van Costa Rica" genoemd vanwege hun rijke biodiversiteit. Terwijl u langs de kalme wateren glijdt, omringd door weelderige vegetatie, helpt uw gids u wilde dieren te spotten, zoals luiaards, brulapen, leguanen, kaaimannen en een grote verscheidenheid aan tropische vogels. De boot beschikt over een dak, comfortabele stoelen en zwemvesten, waardoor het een ideale ervaring is voor gasten van alle leeftijden.
11 kabels en 9 platforms strekten zich uit over de lengte van het regenwoud. De langste kabel is 270 meter lang en je ervaart hoogtes tot wel 80 meter. Hier kunt u genieten van de aangrijpende sensatie van de wind in uw gezicht terwijl u enkele van de meest spectaculaire uitzichten bekijkt.
Verken een lokale souvenirwinkel met authentieke Costa Ricaanse ambachten en geniet van een gratis proeverij van vers gezette koffie en gearomatiseerde cacao (zoals gekarameliseerd of kaneel). Indien beschikbaar, een korte wandeling van 15 minuten door de aangrenzende tuin toont tropische planten zoals ananas, cacao, kaneel, ylang ylang, en noni. Het hoogtepunt is een live demonstratie van hoe een verwerkingssysteem voor bananenplantages werkt, een boeiende blik op een van de belangrijkste exportproducten van Costa Rica.
Terwijl we door het hart van Puerto Limón rijden, deelt uw gids boeiende verhalen over de geschiedenis, cultuur en Afro-Caribische wortels van de stad. Uw tour begint binnen in de pier, waar onze gidsen op u wachten met een bord met uw naam. Kijk voor onze rode shirts voor gemakkelijke identificatie. We bieden pick-up direct binnen de pier, dus er is geen noodzaak om buiten de faciliteiten te lopen. Timing: Tours worden gepland 30 minuten nadat uw schip is aangemeerd, waarbij de vroegste tour om 8:00 uur begint. Als de beste lokale touroperator garanderen wij uw terugkeer naar het cruiseschip

Can’t give high enough praise to our tour guide Anah. Not only is her knowledge of Costa Rica culture top tier, but she goes the extra mile to make your trip special. Took pictures of our group throughout the day and shared them free of additional charge. After an amazing time spotting wildlife on the canals and zip lining through the jungle, she took us to a local beach. She helped us navigate the menu and order at a beachside restaurant resulting in some delicious local food. They were flexible even though our ship arrived late. And still managed to fit all the day’s activities in and made sure we made it back to our ship with time to spare! 10’s across the board!

We had an amazing time with our guide, Yen, and our driver, Alex! They showed us so much about the city, surrounding area, culture, agriculture etc. and were so much fun! Our canal ride was very good and we saw numerous howler monkeys, sloths, crocodiles and caimans in addition to many bird species. The guide was great at pointing out things and explaining what we were seeing. Ziplining was a blast and the crew there were so professional and kind. We got to try some of the fruits and coffee of Costa Rica too. Everything about our tour was exceptional. We were sad to say goodbye to our new friends at the end! My friends and husband told me they would try a zip line, if I would . Boy! Did we pick the right one!!! Everyone had a fabulous time and the guides were superb! Jose was our guide on the island and we had a nice boat ride on the canal and a short trip to a banana plantation. Those two were fine, but the zip line will be with us forever! It was thrilling, but without fear. Those guys were real pros and what a ride! The zip line was high, long and fast. Well worth every cent!

Trip was a full day despite half day booking which was fine with us but plan accordingly. Comfortable rides from place to place and loved zip line and beach. Canal ride was disappointing as we didn’t see much. Tour guide seemed a little inexperienced and struggled with English.

We had an excellent time on our tour! It was very easy to find our guide once we got off the ship. Our tour guide, Ian, was very knowledgable and friendly. The boat tour was super fun and we were able to see sloths, howler monkeys, a crocodile with babies, and several types of birds and lizards. Ziplining was super fun and stunning! We also saw sloths, howler monkeys, and iguanas while ziplining. Our tour guide gave us the option of going to the beach or a small banana plantation/botanic garden and we chose to go to the latter which was very cool. Ian showed us all of the different plants and explained the export of bananas. There was also a gift shop with free coffee samples and lots of cool trinkets. Overall an excellent tour. We were shocked that it was a private tour with just the two of us and a guide. An excellent value for the price. Only thing I would say is make sure to clarify ahead of time what time you are supposed to meet your guide as it can be confusing if ship time is different than local time.
