Het Etnografisch Museum van de Addis Abeba Universiteit is gevestigd in het voormalige paleis van keizer Haile Selassie.
Hier bezoeken we het skelet van een van onze oudste hominide voorouders, Lucy, die 3,2 miljoen jaar geleden leefde!
In de ochtend klimmen we door de eucalyptusbomen naar de berg Entoto en zien we een spectaculair uitzicht op Addis Abeba van bovenaf. Terwijl we op de berg Entoto zijn, bezoeken we ook de Entoto Maryam-kerk, het oorspronkelijke paleis van keizer Menelik II.
We stoppen even bij de Sint-Joriskerk op weg naar Merkato!
Na de Heilige Drievuldigheid bezoeken we de crypte van keizer Menelik, die samen met zijn vrouw en dochter begraven ligt in de rustige Bata Miriam kerk.
We sluiten de dag af bij het bruisende Merkato, de grootste openluchtmarkt van Afrika!

Daniel was an incredibly good tour guide. He tailored the tour to what I was interested in exploring. He is very knowledgeable on the historical facts, plus he gave me a little parting gift. I really appreciate his dedication.
Daniel and his driver friend Ahati did a wonderful job of guiding me through the city, slowing down to allow me to get pictures of monuments and adding in a museum (the Red Terror Museum) at my request. Daniel had good knowledge of the content without being too overwhelming. Communication was good and they even arrived at my hotel early. I totally recommend this tour as a time efficient way to visit the most important sites of Addis Ababa as navigating the traffic on your own would be difficult as a visitor.
Had an amazing day tour of Addis Ababa with Daniel. He was very flexible and customized the itinerary to my interests and availability. He knows the city very well and patiently explained everything about the sites we visited in detail. He was also open to making stops along the way as per my wish, such as restaurants and coffee shops. If you are looking for a knowledgeable guide who can navigate and show you around the city in leisure, I highly recommend him. I will certainly book again with him on my next visit to Ethiopia!

We went to the national museum of Ethiopia, the Ethnological museum and also to Beta Maryam Church where we were able to see the tomb of Menelik II Daniel was a great companion for the tour, with his perfect English and knowledge of Ethiopian history. What an amazing day in Addis Abbaba. Daniel was able to arrange for me to visit the cellar in the Mariam Church were I could view some amazing artifacts. His knowledge of the area is first class, he speaks excellent English and I highly recommend his services!
