De Loch Ard liep in 1878 vast bij Mutton Bird Island. De enige twee overlevenden Tom Pearce en Eva Carmichael wisten zich naar de veiligheid van het strand in Loch Ard Gorge te slepen. Even waren deze twee tragische tieners het gesprek van de Engels sprekende wereld, die heel erg hoopte dat ze zouden trouwen (dat deden ze niet).
Razorback is de lange, maar zeer hoge rotsformatie verderop langs de kust vanaf 12 Apostles. Met scherpe randen en hobbels langs de rug, wind- en watererosie.'
Loch ard George was het toneel van de beroemde scheepsramp aan de scheepswrakkust. De locatie voor een aantal films, waaronder 'de piratenfilm', gefilmd in 1982.

De Memorial Arch is een populaire bestemming om te stoppen, want het is het begin van de Great Ocean Road. We maken van de gelegenheid gebruik om te stoppen bij de aangewezen parkeerplaats om een foto te maken met de boog en het standbeeld, ter herinnering aan hun avontuur. Een groot bord zegt "GREAT OCEAN ROAD"
En zal onze dag eindigen in Anglesea. Anglesea is een stad in Victoria, Australië. Het ligt aan de Great Ocean Road in de Surf Coast Shire.
De reis eindigt hier, waar u gratis trams kunt nemen - treinen of cruise terug naar uw hotel.

Had a great trip overall!! Steve was the most humorous and best tour guide ever!! had so many great laughs and had an amazing time at the Great Ocean Tour overall!! We spotted some wild koalas and kangaroos too 😆
I joined the tour on June29 & the whole trip experiences was amazing. We were able to cover all the spotlights in 1 day with great sunny weather in winter. Steve is a great guide & he was sharing all he knows about Great Ocean Road with us. He took extra effort to ensure we were able to spot koala &’kangaroo as well. I want to thank him for a wonderful tour with my family.

From the moment Steve picked us up at the hotel, right on time, the day was full of positive energy. He is funny, approachable, incredibly knowledgeable, and has a way of making everyone feel welcome. This genuinely makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. Yes, it's a long day, but it's worth every minute. The bus was not to big, so the group was medium size, very comfortable, with spacious seats that even made it easy to have a nap between stops, theirs water available, and USB charger to guarantee you have battery for all the photos and videos. We arrived at the main attractions before the crowds, which made a huge difference. We also saw wild koalas and kangaroos in their natural habitat. Steve was always happy, patient, and attentive, without making anyone feel rushed. I've done many tours while travelling, and this was honestly one of the best. A huge part of that was Steve. He doesn't just guide the tour, he takes care of us as his "guests" (not tourists). Highly recommended!!
A lot of fun. This is a long tour with a very long time on a bus. You need to know this going in. But the payoff is really terrific. The Ocean Road is a collection of really stunning views and vistas. It was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before, and our tour guide, Steve, really enhanced the experience with personal anecdotes and walks through history at just right moments. Even though it’s a really long tour, it’s worth it. There is one caveat: it is very easy to get motion sickness on this tour because the bus takes a lot of very windy, twists and turns.It can be rough, so if you are inclined to get a little motion sick, prepare for it or at least be aware that that might happen. Also, the tour bus does not have a bathroom, but there are several bathroom stops along the way. Also, the tour bus we had offered USB chargers in the seats. I obviously don’t know if every tour bus is equipped the same way but it was very helpful.
It’s a long, but lovely day. Started with a morning mist and cold weather, but it became sunny and beautiful. Our guide (Steve) took us to more secluded spots to see koalas and kangaroos. He had a witty, sarcastic humor which I greatly appreciated! This was a great blend of history, beautiful sights and fun facts about the great ocean road.
What an amazing tour. Steve is such a flexible guide and driver.
