De Chassahowitzka rivier — de lokale bevolking noemt het "The Chaz" — is wat je krijgt als je langs alle drukke bronnen rijdt en doorgaat. Het is in de buurt van Homosassa in Citrus County, op minder dan 2 uur van Orlando en Tampa - dicht genoeg voor een weekendje weg, ver genoeg om te voelen alsof je het wilde Florida hebt ontdekt! Elke tour wordt begeleid door een gepassioneerde & deskundige Gids, die in kleine groepen wordt bediend en 100% duidelijke tandemkajaks gebruikt. Wij bieden hier twee seizoensgebonden clear kayak tours aan : Manatee Season Tours (15 nov – 31 mrt) : gericht op het spotten van deze zachte reuzen in hun natuurlijke habitat. Summer Springs Tours (1 april – 14 november): alles over springhoppen, wilde dieren en zwemmen in prachtige zoetwaterbronnen.

Uw avontuur begint bij Seven Sisters Campground, verscholen langs een rustig kanaal vlak bij de belangrijkste Chassahowitzka-rivier. Van daaruit peddelen we naar de beroemde Seven Sisters Springs, waar helder water over oude kalksteenformaties stroomt. Je ziet natuurlijke onderwatertunnels die de bronnen met elkaar verbinden – perfect voor een beetje zwemmen of gewoon genieten van het uitzicht. Vervolgens gaan we stroomafwaarts richting Baird Creek, een kronkelende waterweg die alleen toegankelijk is voor kleine peddelboten. Omgeven door overhangende bomen en ongerepte wildernis, voelt het alsof je in een echte jungle stapt – veel gasten zeggen dat het is alsof je door een scène uit Jurassic Park peddelt. Deze tour biedt een mix van prachtige uitzichten op de lente, verborgen hoekjes van “Old Florida” en volop kansen om onderweg wilde dieren te spotten. Of je nu peddelt, zwemt of gewoon drijft en alles in je opneemt, het is een ervaring die je niet wilt missen.
Peddel door afgelegen bronnen met genoeg tijd om te zwemmen in iconische locaties zoals Seven Sisters Springs. Waterstanden bepalen de toegang tot The Crack — als het tij goed is, brengen we je erheen. Als dat niet zo is, laten we je even mooie verborgen plekjes en bronnen zien rond de Chaz die de meeste mensen nooit vinden. Hoe dan ook, je zwemt in het ongerepte water van Old Florida!

Crosby was a great kayak tour guide on the Chaz. He knew the best places to see that were not as crowded on a holiday weekend. We saw turtles and river otters! He shared interesting facts about the area. We will definitely ask for him again!

Guided tour with Kenny. We were the only guests. We had a great time. Kenny was fun & could answer our constant questions. Easy paddle with a stop at seven sisters to swim through the linked holes. Highly recommend
