Elmina Castle werd opgericht door Portugezen in 1482 als São Jorge da Mina (St. George van de mijn) in Elmina, Ghana (voorheen de Gold Coast). Elmina en Elmina Castle waren de eerste handelspost gebouwd aan de Golf van Guinee, net als het oudste Europese gebouw onder de Sahara. Het werd eerst opgericht als een handelsregeling, maar werd later een van de belangrijkste haltes op de route van de Atlantische slavenhandel. Tegenwoordig is Elmina Castle een populaire historische site en een belangrijke filmlocatie voor de dramaserie "Cobra Verde" uit Werner Herzog uit 1987. Het is een uiterst populaire bestemming voor Afro-Amerikaanse toeristen die verbinding willen maken met hun erfgoed en een krachtige herinnering aan de geschiedenis van de slavenhandel.
Cape Coast Castle is een van de grootste kastelen gebouwd door Europese mogendheden in het huidige Ghana. Het begon als een handelshuis gebouwd door de Portugezen in 1555 aan een deel van de Goudkust, dat later bekend werd als de Kaapkust. In 1653, na de verovering van de Kaapkust door Zweden, bouwde de Zweedse Afrikaanse Compagnie een permanent houten fort voor de handel in hout en goud. Het is open voor het publiek en is momenteel een historisch museum met een Ghanese kunst- en handwerkcadeauwinkel, en het is het regionale hoofdkantoor van de Ghana Museums and Monuments Board.

Malik and Mannan were amazing private guides. We throughly enjoyed the tour, and our time with them. Started off as strangers and became friends by the end of it. I was hesitant at the beginning. My excitement kicked in the moment we pulled into the parking lot. The walk at Karkum National Park was a memorable experience. I will definitely advice any adventurer to do the Canopy Walk... The entire experience is worth every penny.... Tour guides are very hospitable.

We were able to tour with Med. We are a family of 9. I cannot express my gratitude for Med enough. His patience for planning our trips was next level. Then we get on the trips and everything flowed so smoothly. Med watched out for us and gave us a well-rounded experience. We wanted to try food from the road side and restaurants, everything was yummyyyy. When we did the canopy walk Med walked with us that could not go too fast. He helped plan a surprise for my sister birthday at the resort. Med was attentive, caring , open, and funny. You should book all of his trips.
