Bekijk de prachtige tempels van Abu Simbel tijdens een privédagtrip vanuit Aswan. Begin met ophalen bij je hotel of Nijlcruiseboot in Aswan en maak vervolgens de reis naar Abu Simbel in een privéauto (bijna 3 uur rijden). Bij aankomst zal je gids je de wereldberoemde tweelingtempels laten zien die oorspronkelijk uit de berghelling zijn uitgehouwen in de 13e eeuw voor Christus, tijdens het bewind van de 19e dynastie van farao Ramses II.
De Grote Tempel in Abu Simbel wordt algemeen beschouwd als de grootste en mooiste van de tempels die tijdens het bewind van Ramses II in gebruik zijn genomen, en een van de mooiste in Egypte. De grote tempel van Amon Re en Ra-Harakhte waar de vier beroemde kolossale standbeelden van Ramses II majestueus meer dan 20 meter hoog zitten en uitkijken over de woestijn. Geniet van een fantastische lezing van je persoonlijke gids buiten de tempels, en vrije tijd om binnen in het tempelinterieur te kijken, dat 60 meter de berg in zakt, met beelden en houtsnijwerk die de militaire overwinningen en gevangenen van Ramses II uitbeelden. Op de achtermuur van de tempel zie je de beelden gewijd aan de goden Amon, Ra-Horakhty en Ptah, evenals aan de vergoddelijkte Ramses zelf.
Loop later naar de kleine tempel van Hathor, gewijd aan de godin met het koeienhoofd van liefde, geluk, vreugde en muziek, gebouwd ter ere van Ramses favoriete vrouw, koningin Nefertari. Zes enorme staande beelden staan voor de tempel, elk 10 meter hoog. Tussen 1964 en 1968 werd het hele terrein zorgvuldig in grote blokken gehakt (tot 30 ton, gemiddeld 20 ton), gedemonteerd, opgetild en weer in elkaar gezet op een nieuwe locatie 65 meter hoger en 200 meter terug van de rivier, in een van de grootste uitdagingen van archeologische techniek in de geschiedenis. Sommige bouwwerken werden zelfs gered onder de wateren van het Nassermeer. Na een bezoek aan het tempelcomplex maakt u de terugreis naar Aswan, waar deze tour eindigt met aflevering bij uw hotel of cruiseschip.

Ahmet was a good and reliable driver and Mostapha a good guide but we wish we had spent more time talking to him. For organisational reasons guides are not allowed in the temple so you only get the guide's explanations for about 10-15 mind before you enter.
Our guide Hassim was friendly, knowledgeable, and obviously proud of his heritage. He made sure we weren’t pestered by vendors and that we got a good price when we did decide to buy things. We were free to marvel at the innovation and artistry of the ancient Egyptians, knowing we were in capable hands. We also appreciated the multiple water bottles they supplied.
Tour was okay. Guide spoke German very well and explanations were interesting. However, I think next time I would just book a driver. It feels weird to have a guide in the car for 6 hours and only have explanations for 15 minutes before the temple since they are not allowed inside. Abu Simbel is worth it but not as guided tour.

Also that you previous knowledge that the tour guides as not allowed lecturing inside the AbuSimbel temples. We have contacted the Tour guide and he confirmed that he Gave a good lecture infront on the temple cover all the wall scenes that you will see inside and continues for almost 35 to 45 minutes. Then you had free time to walk and enjoy the Temples. As well as he share some info. concerning the toshka depression, Lake and projects that you have seen along the way. Nile Holiday Tour Company was dependable; our tour guide Mary was on time (3:00AM) to pick us up in our hotel; she was super nice - sharing her knowledge about the temple and its history, what the writings on the walls were about...really good! She was also kind enough to take awesome pictures.

If you are part of an organized group, you do not need to rent a private vehicle. No more value, especially if you come across, like us on a guide not very good at all!.
We are a family with 2 children aged 11 and 8 and enjoyed a fantastic trip in the Nile Valley. Yousry was an outstanding leader who really grew close to our hearts. The tours were exciting and competently guided and the whole tour perfectly organized. Many thanks to the organizers and Yousry!

<p>My wife and I took Abu Simbel tour in March 2018. Guide agreed to meet us airport at convenient time. They also returned us to Aswan hotel after the tour. Everything went off without a problem. Guide was very knowledgeable about history and made us feel welcome. Abu Simbel temple is decent ride south of Aswan but well worth it. I would highly recommend.</p>
If you go to Egypt you must go to Abu Simbel. It's incredible but the heat is otherworldly. We got up at 2.00AM so that we could arrive very early, see the sunrise and return as soon as the sun made its appearance.

<p>We loved Abu Simbel! We did not go as early as everybody suggested, instead left Aswan at 7AM, and when we got to Abu Simbel all other tourists were gone and we had the whole temple for ourselves!! It was amazing!! The people very friendly, including our guide Hati.</p>
