Excellent trip great weather. More enjoyable than mail boat cruises as slower pace. Coastline amazing. Good length of time. Took us to have 2nd look at split apple rock so got amazing photos because of suns position.
We booked the “Great Day Out” option and it was unreal, we absolutely loved it. We got to see the entire coastline, and on the way out we travelled on the big boat, which was perfect as it was a bit chilly in the morning. It was nice to be able to sit inside, stay warm, and enjoy the views. After reaching the end, we were dropped off at Tonga Quarry and walked through to Medlands Beach. The track was soo beautiful, with lots of ferns, trees, and native birdlife along the way. Bark Bay was an absolute stunner, and we spent quite a bit of time there before continuing on to our pickup point. On the way back, we got picked up in a small boat. Boarding was super easy, didn't have to take our shoes off, the captain was very friendly, funny and it ended up being a great experience. We actually loved the faster smaller boat ride back, especially since we’d already taken in the coastline views from the big slow slower boat that morning. Highly recommend this trip!! Thank you so much! :) Evie & Shane, Australia
Did not deliver on what was paid for by giving us a worse water taxi tour instead of a cruise on a bigger, better, more comfortable vessel. No offer of a partial or full refund either which was disappointing considering that we got a worse experience than what we paid for.
Easy parking nearby. Helpful and friendly staff. Good sized clean boat with plenty of seating. Snacks and drinks served onboard. Very good commentary along the cruise. One of the lady crew members on board our trip (unfortunately we didn’t get her name but she used to live in Guernsey!) was so friendly and sat with us for a while giving us some very interesting information about the cruise and the local area. All the crew were friendly and worked hard to give all the passengers a great experience.
The operator contacted a group of six to allow cancellation when the itinerary changed but as I single I was never contacted in any way.
Kia ora Sandy, Thank you for your review. We would like to clarify what occurred with this booking. Your reservation was made late in the evening through the online agent Viator. By the following morning our system had received a cancellation notification from Viator. Because of this notification the booking was not processed further on our side while we contacted Viator to confirm whether the reservation was still meant to be active, as it continued to appear in their system. This appears to have been a system communication issue between booking platforms rather than any intention to treat your booking differently. As soon as we received your message we responded directly to explain the situation. We always aim to ensure all guests are treated fairly and appreciate the opportunity to clarify what happened. We had a beautiful day hiking in the Abel Tasman National Park. The team from Wilsons consisting of Sib, Finn and Caleb did a great job getting us on the boat, taking us to the split apple rock and to look for seals! They were all so friendly; we were in great hands.
Thank you for appreciating the team work.
The staff were friendly and helpful and looked like they enjoyed their work. We were informed about the local history as we sailed along, which was interesting and done well. The boat was clean and comfortable with the option of being put in the open air or below in a comfortable cabin. We had a good amount of time once we arrived at The Anchorage, to walk around a loop track and have a swim before the boat returned to take us back to Kaiteriteri. Totally recommend.
Thank you for a wonderful description of our Option 1: Anchorage/Pitt Head Loop day trip.
Very busy when first departed, with standing room only for quite a few passengers, until drop offs started. It was a bit of a “bun fight” to take photos until the boat got quieter. The area was very beautiful and once seated the cruise was very comfortable.
The best. You could hardly go wrong in the paradise that is Abel Tasman National Park, but this family-run tour company takes it to the next level. Just love the relaxed, smiling staff and friendly nature. We were late for our pick up and no one seemed to care a jot - a boatload of very happy people! Love your work, Wilson’s, thank you!
I'm glad the boat load of people were relaxed. I suspect you were not the only late arrivals, so you couldn't be responsible for the late boat departure.
Lovely cruise along the coast of Abel Tasmin National Park visiting beaches & bays. Boat was rather packed to begin with (we didn't realise people were being dropped off on the way) but much more enjoyable on return journey, as we were able to get a seat up top!
Thank you for making the most of our busy holiday season.
