Verken de adembenemende natuur van IJsland tijdens een Golden Circle-tour vanuit de haven van Skarfabakki. In tegenstelling tot traditionele tours hebben we geen vaste vertrektijd. We wachten tot uw cruise aanmeert voor aanvang, tot 2 uur na aankomst. Onze kleine groepsbenadering zorgt voor een meer persoonlijke ervaring, waardoor onze deskundige gidsen uitzonderlijke service kunnen bieden en de fascinerende geschiedenis, cultuur en geologie van IJsland kunnen delen. De Gouden Cirkel is IJslands beroemdste sightseeingroute en combineert prachtige landschappen met verhalen die reiken van het nederzettingentijdperk tot heden. Hoogtepunten zijn onder andere de krachtige Gullfoss waterval, de uitbarstende warmwaterbronnen van Geysir, Thingvellir National Park en de prachtige Öxarárfoss waterval. We bezoeken ook de opvallende Kerið vulkanische krater, waar kleurrijke rode hellingen een rustig blauw meer omringen, waardoor een van de meest pittoreske natuurlijke bezienswaardigheden van IJsland ontstaat.

We gaan richting de donderende Gullfoss-waterval, die bovenaan veel lijstjes staat als krachtig en hypnotiserend natuurverschijnsel. Er is een plek bij Gullfoss waar je een lunch voor jezelf kunt kopen.
Het geothermische gebied van Geysir is adembenemend mooi, waar we elke vijf minuten de geiser Strokkur kunnen zien uitbarsten. Er is een plek in Geysir waar je een lunch voor jezelf kunt kopen.
Thingvellir National Park, een juweel met zowel historische als geologische waarde. Dit is de plaats waar het IJslandse parlement in 930 na Christus werd gesticht; elk jaar, en tot het Deense kolonialisme, kwamen ongeveer dertig heersende leiders bijeen om de wet op het eiland te bespreken. Het herbergt ook de ontmoeting van de Noord-Amerikaanse en Euraziatische tektonische platen, en dat is de reden waarom we zeggen dat we op deze specifieke locatie tussen continenten kunnen lopen. Als klap op de vuurpijl maken we een gemakkelijke wandeling naar de prachtige Öxararfoss-waterval, een van de weinige door mensen gemaakte watervallen in IJsland. Het kanaal van de rivier de Öxará werd in de 10e eeuw verplaatst om alle parlementsmedewerkers van water te voorzien.
We gaan verder naar de opvallende Kerið vulkanische krater, waar levendige rode vulkanische hellingen een rustig turquoise meer omringen, waardoor een van de meest kleurrijke en boeiende natuurlijke bezienswaardigheden van IJsland ontstaat.

- De tour zal in totaal ongeveer 6 tot 7 uur duren. Het duurt ongeveer 1 uur en 47 minuten om onze eerste stop, "Gullfoss", te bereiken vanuit Reykjavik, waar we beginnen. De totale reistijd zou ongeveer 3 uur en 30 minuten moeten bedragen, daarnaast zullen we per locatie extra tijd besteden, wat neerkomt op een totaal van zo'n 6 tot 7 uur.
- Houd er rekening mee dat wij geen bagageopslag aanbieden.
- Vanwege de duur van de tour en het vaste schema zijn wij van mening dat baby's (0-3 jaar) niet aan deze tour mogen deelnemen.
- Houd er rekening mee dat niet alle cruises zijn inbegrepen. Neem altijd contact met ons op om te bevestigen of we een vertrek beschikbaar hebben voor uw cruise.

We was met by Goncalo a Portuguese guide who from the start was friendly and made you welcome. He explained the agenda and also said we might be able to fit in a couple of extra stops if time permitted. Very clear about toilet stops eye which at my age is important and at each stop attempted to get the most convenient drop point. Very good explaining about aspects of Iceland including plant life and the animals and also the weather which in our case was perfect. At the end of the day he dropped us off in various locations so that we could look around Reykjavik. Great day, great service and half the price of the cruise line package the the same excursion.

We arrived on a cruise ship and wanted to see the Golden Circle without paying cruise excursion prices. The smaller van tour is nice and we would give David six stars if we could. Plenty of time at each stop made it fun.

Wow! From the moment Simon ( aka Spicy Viking) opened the tour bus doors we knew an adventure was in store. Informative, witty and full of fun facts it was a great balance. First stop was Thingvellir National Park A UNESCO World Heritage Site where the North American and Eurasian plates pull apart, creating cliffs, fissures, and a landscape that looks like the earth is splitting open. It’s also the site of Iceland’s first parliament. We got to see Geysir Geothermal Area Home to Strokkur, the geyser that erupts every few minutes — a reliable, dramatic burst of steam and boiling water. The area is full of bubbling mud pots and mineral‑rich pools. Gullfoss Waterfall was breathtaking The “Golden Falls” that give the route its name — a two‑tiered, roaring canyon waterfall that feels mythic in any weather.

All good on this small group tour , enjoyed the sights and the fact that everything was covered in snow was the real bonus. Our guide Martin was very interesting and had a great way about him. Driving conditions looked looked tricky , this is where an experienced guide is essential.
