* Any requests you make when booking are not passed on to the driver, so you’ll need to discuss them directly with the driver on the day of the tour. * Bottled water is not provided. This was also the case on other Viator tours I took. * The driver may rush you, try to take you to souvenir shops, and keep talking to you throughout the tour, which can become quite annoying. * The driver speaks very little English, so communication can be difficult. However, Uber is not available in Luxor, so if you want to visit these sites independently, booking a private driver like this is essentially your only practical option. I hope you get a good driver. Don’t hesitate to say “No” clearly and firmly if you’re not interested.
Salwa was our tour guide for the day and we were very happy with how knowledgeable she is, she also prioritized the most important key points of our visit since we were short in time. She explained everything and answered all our questions into detail. She also has a great and kind energy, our driver was very kind as well. Overall I would recommend this experience to whoever is interested in knowing more about this magnificent place.
The temples are impressive and amazing. Salwa is very knowledgeable about everything. We even added a boat ride at the end of the trip.
The positive: Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, he explained a lot to us and gave us tips for great photos on both temples! The negative: we booked a tour in German to not have to interpret from English to German to our son, however I don’t think that our guide’s knowledge of German was at the right level for this type of service. I’m confident he would probably do a much better job in English or Arabic, so I would encourage him to keep learning the language if he’s keen on giving tours in German.

We had a wonderful day exploring the East Bank. Our tour guide Salwa was extremely knowledgeable and informative. We were picked up on time, she guided us through the Karnak and Luxor Temples. She explained the history and meaning of several drawings/ writings in through detail, took our photos and gave us time to take photos as we went along and also in the end. She was easy to chat to, really friendly and made our tour very enjoyable.

Mahmoud oraby was our guide on this amazing tour. His knowledge of Egyptian history is extensive. He brought the ruins to life with his explanations. We throughly enjoyed ourselves. I highly recommend Mahmoud as a guide. Our driver Abdo expertly maneuvered the crowds, allowing us to picked up and dropped off right at the sites. A wonderful tour!
