De Tortuguero Canals worden vaak de "Amazone van Costa Rica" genoemd en zijn een van de meest iconische natuurlijke attracties van het land. Deze begeleide boottocht voert u door rustige, smalle waterwegen, omringd door weelderige tropische vegetatie, en biedt close-up uitzicht op de lokale fauna. Met de hulp van uw gids kunt u luiaards, brulapen, leguanen, kaaimannen en een grote verscheidenheid aan tropische vogels spotten. De boot is uitgerust met een dak, comfortabele stoelen en zwemvesten, waardoor het een veilige en ontspannende ervaring is voor alle leeftijden.
Verken een lokale souvenirwinkel met authentieke Costa Ricaanse ambachten en geniet van een gratis proeverij van vers gezette koffie en gearomatiseerde cacao (zoals gekarameliseerd of kaneel). Indien beschikbaar, een korte wandeling van 15 minuten door de aangrenzende tuin toont tropische planten zoals ananas, cacao, kaneel, ylang ylang, en noni. Dit schilderachtige pad van 2 kilometer neemt je mee op een begeleide wandeling door weelderig secundair bos en biedt de kans om de rijke biodiversiteit van Costa Rica van dichtbij te ervaren. Onderweg geniet u van prachtige landschappen en een verscheidenheid aan tropische flora en fauna. Het pad is vooral bekend om zijn kikkersoorten, waaronder de opvallende rode pijlgifkikker (Oophaga pumilio), evenals gemeenschappelijke waarnemingen van brulapen, witkopkapucijnen en beide soorten Costa Ricaanse luiaards (twee- en drietenen). Vogelliefhebbers kunnen toekans, oropendolas, tanagers, kolibries, grote kiskadees en meer spotten. Eekhoorns, vlinders en andere fascinerende wezens vullen ook dit levendige ecosysteem.
Vervolgens pauzeren we onderweg voor een heerlijke lokale lunch op een ontspannen plek. Het is de perfecte kans om Caribische smaken te proeven zoals rijst en bonen met kokosnoot, gegrilde vis met limoen, malse kip in rijke Caribische saus of knapperige patacones. Combineer uw maaltijd met een vers vruchtensap of een koud lokaal biertje en geniet van een smaakvolle pauze voordat u uw avontuur voortzet.
Ontdek de frisse en levendige smaken van Costa Rica bij een lokale fruitkraam, waar je de kans krijgt om tropische lekkernijen te proeven, zoals zoete ananas, sappige papaja, minibananen, knapperige platanito's, rijpe watermeloen en zelfs nippen van vers kokoswater. Uw tour begint binnen in de pier, waar onze gidsen op u wachten met een bord met uw naam. Kijk voor onze rode shirts voor gemakkelijke identificatie. We bieden pick-up direct binnen de pier, dus er is geen noodzaak om buiten de faciliteiten te lopen. Timing: Tours worden gepland 30 minuten nadat uw schip is aangemeerd, waarbij de vroegste tour om 8:00 uur begint. Als de beste lokale touroperator garanderen wij uw terugkeer naar het cruiseschip

Katerin was an amazing tour guide. Very informative and friendly. We really enjoyed the fruit samples. The mango was amazing!! Catarina and Gigi were great companions and I told us a lot and explained things. They got us fresh fruit and we had a lot of fun with the two! During the boat tour and the hike we could observe many animals and there was enough time to take great photos. During a walk through an educational garden Catarina was able to tell us a lot about the cocoa, coffee and banana plants. We had a great day!

It was rainy during our canal tour, but we were still able to see a few sloths & monkeys. "Rich" was our guide for the entire 6-in-1 & she was great! She was so good at spotting different things (snakes, sloths, monkeys, spiders, dragonflies, etc) along the jungle/beach trail. We also had someone with a challenging personality & Rich showed great patience. She is also fluent in both English & Spanish, so she made the trip enjoyable for everyone.

What a great tour so fun. Mario was our fabulous driver and our guide was Rich who was one of the best tour guides I’ve had anywhere. She was so friendly bubbly and knowledgeable. We stopped at a shop that gave us samples of plantains coffee and fresh fruit then off to the rain forest/beach. Saw sloths and snakes giant spiders turtles iguanas and lots of different flowers. Walked out to the ocean which was so pretty. Then we had time for a local beer and some gelato. Passed the banana plants and then stopped in to learn about how they grow and more sloths !!! Grabbed a delicious meat pie and off to move our boat ride. We got another sample of frag fruit and a water and took a slow cruise down a canal to see lots of birds and iguanas and even a cayman. Truly got a great feel for Costa Rica and it’s very friendly people and it’s amazing country! Rice and Beans !!!

We had an amazing day on this excursion. Our guides were very informative and helpful with taking pics of the animals. We saw Slots (also 1 was eating), birds, bats, monkeys and venomous snake. Rich asked us what we would like to see and do on this excursion. She made sure we saw all the animals that everyone wanted to see. Also, she was very informative about the plant life and what purposes these plants served. Never did we feel rushed and was a very relaxed environment. I would do this excursion again.
What a wonderful experience. Even tho it rained most of the day, we still saw the canals and the park. The boats were covered so that helped a lot. We saw a lot of sloths in the park which was an incredible experience. Our guide Pablo was the absolute best!! His personality, excitement and adventurous nature made the trip more than I could have expected.
