Reisroute

Kilimanjaro Wonders Expedition Safari received a negative review for poor organization and lack of communication. The guide was inexperienced, leading to a disappointing experience. Accommodation and transport were subpar, with long delays. Wildlife sightings were sparse, and the safari felt rushed. Overall, it didn't meet the expectations of the tour description.
Teacher and his team at Kwesa Tours led our group of 20 from the USA (CO, IL, IA, and TX) via the Marangu route to the summit of Kilimanjaro. It was one of the most fun, safe, challenging, and life changing experiences. The Kwesa Team took care of us at every step from the preparations, briefings, dining, hiking, and ultimately the preparation for the summit attempt. Most of our group was successful in summiting in large part due to the assistance and fortitude of the Kwesa team. We all felt confident about our safety (especially since Teacher has climbed over 1,000 times), and the Kwesa Team shared our objective to get to the top as a whole. I am grateful for Teacher’s friendship and the cooks, guides, and porters who looked after us so well. I don’t think we would have had such success in reaching the top if it wasn’t for this wonderful team. I would definitely choose Kwesa Tours again and would recommend them to my family and friends. It was a wonderful physical, mental, and cultural experience that I will never forget and I hope to recreate.
Edward “Teacher” Lazaro, owner and leader of Kwesa Tours and his fine team led our family and friends to the summit of Kilimanjaro! Our group of 20 from the U.S. (IL, CO and TX) selected the Marangu route because it is the only route where you use huts for the ascent and descent and we generally had a crew with no climbing experience. Teacher is a fascinating, principled, man who truly cares about his clients (we now call him our friend) and those values translate to his whole team. Bottom line: Teacher and his KWESA team took care of us from start to finish, focused on our self care and achieving our goal - get to the top!… safely. They provided support, preparation, briefings, nutrition (compliments to the cooks), hydration, and friendly encouragement throughout the trip. The trek was culturally and environmentally interesting, safe, fun, yet challenging … with no technical climbing. I highly recommend Kilimanjaro Wonders Expeditions.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Tuliza, my fantastic tour guide, who went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. Not only did Tuliza provide invaluable information throughout the trip, but he also stepped in to carry my day-pack whenever I was struggling. I’m also incredibly thankful to our talented chef-Patrick, and the attentive waiter-Juma, who catered to my needs with such care and dedication. And a big shoutout to the amazing porters, who tirelessly carried all our gear, food, and utensils. Their hard work and determination truly made this journey unforgettable!
Thank you for your kind words! We're happy that Tuliza, Patrick, Juma, and our porters made your journey unforgettable. Your appreciation means a lot to the entire team. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we hope to welcome you back soon.
Hiking Kilimanjaro’s Marangu route with “Teacher” and his team at KWESA was an unforgettable adventure. Reaching the peak of Africa is no easy feat, and without KWESA supporting, encouraging, and believing in us all the way to the top I’m not sure we would have made it! From step one they made us feel as a part of their family and took care of us from foothill to peak to valley.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt message. We're very happy that hiking Kilimanjaro with "Teacher" and the KWESA team was such a memorable experience for you. It means the world to us that we could support and encourage you to the top. We're so glad to have been part of your journey and are proud to have you as part of our KWESA family.

Amazing trek with Kwesa!!! Reaching the summit was a moment of pure joy, made possible by the expertise, encouragement, and commitment of the Kwesa team. We could not have made it without their coaching to “pole pole” (walk slowly), endless chants and singing to “Jambo Bwana”, and of course their porter support. Big thank you to Teacher and his team!
Thank you for your wonderful feedback... We’re so happy to hear that reaching the summit was such a joyful moment for you, and we're proud that the Kwesa team could play a part in making it happen. The “pole pole” pace and singing “Jambo Bwana” are traditions we love sharing, and we’re thrilled they added to your experience. The teacher and the whole team will be touched by your appreciation! Wishing you many more adventures, and we hope to see you again.
I went with a group of 20 people and 15 of us summited thanks to the Kwesa Family. It’s a fast-paced 6 days so be sure to bring eye shades and ear plugs for naps here and there and quality sleep. Huge shoutout to Teacher of course, Sampson for his help getting me to the top, Julian for keeping the morale high with his chanting, and porters for their help transporting me down after a minor injury on the summit descent.
Thank you for your message... We’re delighted to hear that 15 of your group reached the summit and that the Kwesa Family was able to support you throughout the trek... It’s great to know that Teacher, Sampson, Julian, and our porters made a difference in your experience, especially with the challenges you faced. Your advice on bringing eye shades and ear plugs is appreciated and will be helpful for future trekkers. Wishing you all the best and hoping to see you again on another adventure.
If you are looking for the best, most authentic, and welcoming experience book with Kwesa Tours. This summer I took a trip down to Tanzania and had the best 2 weeks imaginable. From the first day Kwesa promises for you to enter as a client and leave as family and this is displayed through their hospitality and welcoming characters. Everyone you meet at Kwesa has their own stories and perspectives to tell you about the culture and history of the country ensuring you have an authentic experience that is hard to find with other tour companies. On my six day hike to the peak of Kilimanjaro I could tell I was with the best in the business ensuring my safety with health checks every night and motivating me to move forwards with funny stories and interesting chats. I have left the base with countless friends that I will revisit in the future. 10/10 experience would recommend to everyone visiting Tanzania
Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience with Kwesa Tours! We're overjoyed to hear that your trip to Tanzania was unforgettable and that our team made you feel like family. It's fantastic to know that you enjoyed the cultural insights and stories, and felt safe and motivated during your Kilimanjaro hike. Your kind words mean the world to us, and we look forward to welcoming you back for more adventures. Warm regards, The Kwesa Tours Team
Such an amazing experience with Edward, Joseph and Good Luck - they provided everything for us, even allowing us to hire all the equipment from them. My friend and I were the only people summiting that day and it was absolutely magical. We are two 19 year old girls and we’re on our gap year at the time of climbing kili. They looked after us so well, and we both felt so safe and assured while climbing. The chef was great and we had delicious meals everyday, not to mention all the extra service we received from the rest of the team. I cannot recommend them enough - you will not find a better price or have a better experience anywhere else.
Kwesa Tours really come out tops by the look of your review. Edward, Joseph, Good Luck, going out of their way for the equipment rentals and extended support overall, is appreciable. They just made you and your friend, two gals on a gap year adventure, feel safe and secure throughout the climb
