We beginnen bij Hobart's beroemde Salamanca Markets en nemen je vervolgens mee naar de wildernis van de westkust, Cradle Mountain, de Bay of Fires en Freycinet National Park aan de oostkust en het prachtige Tasman Peninsula. My wife and I flew from Texas to Tasmania for the first time during the last half of March 2026. We are so happy Hadyn Chilcott was available to guide us (and 12 other adults) around the island on the 6 Day Comfort Tour. Being a native of Tasmania who has led many tours, Hadyn’s knowledge of the plants, animals and history of the island kept us entertained the entire time. We highly recommend Hadyn and Under Down Under if you want to see the beauty of the island without the worries of driving on narrow, winding mountain roads, in the rain while dodging suicidal wildlife. We visited so many sites and ‘only’ took about 1000 photos. If the weather is warm, you’ll have multiple opportunities to swim in fresh and saltwater. Bring comfortable hiking shoes as there are a fair number of trails to walk up, but the views are worth it. The weather was almost perfect during our trip with only a small amount of drizzle and mostly sunny or partly cloudy skies. At Unzoo, birds and kangaroos were eating out of our hands while we pet them. The Gordon River cruise to see Sarah Island was an eye-opener to the harsh history of Tasmania. On the final night, Hadyn took out his guitar and sang a few songs after our dinner overlooking the Tasman Sea. The entire experience was certainly “An Adventure to remember” and we checked off most of the bucket-list items we had for Tasmania at a reasonable price for the experience we had. As we are from the UK we have done group tours in Italy, Spain and Portugal and seen some wonderful things but our Tasmania tour eclipsed them all. We did the Tasmanian Discovery Comfort Tour which took us all around the island into several reserves and National Parks with beautiful mountainous and coastal scenery. Our wonderful tour guide Hadyn had an encyclopaedic knowledge of the islands fauna and flora but also entertained us with humorous anecdotes of his varied career and escapes. This is a tour not to be missed.

Early starts. Plenty of walking with steps. Plenty of driving but with multiple loo stops. The minibus is somewhat limited in leg room especially for longer drives. Accommodation and food very good. A very comprehensive tour and very worthwhile. Tour guide Hadyn was excellent- great knowledge of the area, careful driver, superb guitar player and went out of his way to assist when required. Thanks mate and good on yer for your upcoming travels 👍 ( don’t forget the brake fluid 😜)

We typically use Toyota Coaster Deluxe as our standard tour vehicle and recognise that for tall guests, we need to stop regularly to stretch legs and allow for breaks. Luckily in Tasmania, the breaks are typically at wonderful sites and locations! Thanks for mentioning that many of the walks have steps. Moderate fitness and good mobility are important for this tour. We aim to balance seeing as much of Tasmania as possible with comfort and convenience, and your observations help us improve the experience for future guests. After years of talking about wanting see Tasmania, we finally took the plunge with Under Down Under and were not disappointed. The island is breathtakingly beautiful. Our small, fun group was perfect to discover it with, and Hadyn, our guide, was not only very knowledgeable, but went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of and comfortable. Simply stunning. So many gorgeous nature sites, national parks, cataract, beaches, waterfalls - I am still awestruck. Tasmania treats its people and its environment with great respect and is inspiring in all ways. Our Under Down Under Tour was fantastic at getting us to see so many places; in just six days we circumnavigated the island with an extremely knowledgeable and skillful guide (Haydn) who did everything possible to make sure we had a safe and awesome tour. The Gordon River boat trip was a delight. We saw lots of Tazzy wildlife. And so much more. The whole experience is highly recommended. I can’t say enough about how wonderful it was. I doubt I will ever get to visit Australia again but if I did I’d do a tour with Under Down Under again with joy.

Had a fabulous time on this tour. Hayden, our guide, was local and v knowledgable about Tasmania and all the flora and fauna. He kept us entertained with interesting stories and even played the guitar for us one evening which was great. This was our first small group tour. We found it to be well organized. Covering so many of the highlights of the beautiful nature of Tasmania. The guide, Hadyn was incredible. As a local Tasmanian he was so well informed on history, ecology of the area. He is an accomplished storyteller and was able to convey the important points of each area with humour and excellent facts and local information. He was very responsive to the needs of all passengers, assisting and encouraging everyone to have an excellent experience. The hotels and meals provided were very satisfactory. The van was comfortable and skilfully driven by the guide. I felt very safe and I know that we would have never had the same informative tour if we had gone on our own. The days were full but with enough variety that they were very enjoyable. The small group experience was excellent!
