Stap 1: De tour begint aan de oostkust van het eiland, met zijn prachtige zwarte zandstranden en beroemde surfspots! Tijdens de route zijn er stops van 5-10 minuten voor foto's, informatie van de gids, enz.
STAP 2: Ontdek Tahiti vanuit een unieke hoek! De tocht begint langs de oostkust van het eiland, met zijn prachtige zwarte zandstranden en beroemde surfplekken, voordat je het hart van de Papenoo vallei binnengaat, de grootste vallei van Tahiti. Deze onderdompeling in het hart van de weelderige natuur van het eiland geeft je de kans om de essentie ervan op een authentieke en unieke manier te ontdekken. De excursie is inclusief commentaar en stops bij verschillende opmerkelijke plaatsen, met adembenemende landschappen tot aan de Caldera, een uitgedoofde vulkaankrater waaruit Tahiti Nui is ontstaan. Je zult versteld staan van de majestueuze watervallen, groene bergen, weelderige vegetatie en plaatselijke flora en fauna. De gids vertelt je fascinerende verhalen over mythen en legenden, marae en het rijke culturele en historische erfgoed van het eiland.
STAP 3: Na de helft van het eiland te hebben afgelegd en de Caldera te hebben bereikt, gaat de excursie verder met een bezoek aan het authentieke dorp Fare Hape, een plek vol geschiedenis waar je het traditionele leven van de Tahitiaanse inwoners ontdekt (marae, fare, Tahitiaanse oven, enz.). Voordat je op pad gaat, raden we je aan om een broodje of snack mee te nemen als lunch. Hiervoor stoppen we bij een supermarkt waar je alles kunt kopen wat je nodig hebt. Lunchen doe je in een authentieke en pittoreske omgeving in het dorpje Fare Hape, waar je kunt genieten van een welverdiende pauze. We raden je ook sterk aan om je eigen waterfles of flessen water mee te nemen, zodat je goed gehydrateerd blijft tijdens de excursie. Er wacht je een kleine verrassing om je verder onder te dompelen in de Polynesische cultuur voor een moment van gezelligheid en delen.
STAP 4: Het avontuur gaat verder met een stop bij de tunnel die de oost- en westkust met elkaar verbindt en een spectaculair uitzicht biedt op Vaihiria, het enige natuurlijke hooggelegen meer van Tahiti. Daarna doorkruis je het hele eiland voordat je terugkeert naar het beginpunt.

Beautiful scenery but hang on for the rugged ride. Guide friendly and courteous. The stops for food at the grocery store very helpful. The lunch picnic spot was a relaxing break halfway through the drive. Highly recommend.
This tour was absolutely fabulous and we would highly recommend this tour! Our guide T’mauve (not sure spelling) was the most knowledgeable and we learned so much about the Tahitian culture. He educated us on all the nature and all the beauty of Tahiti!

The guides Temaeva was excellent. However due to landslide the road is blocked. We only went half way. Tunnel id blocked. You don't see lake Vahiria. You don't go out other side of island at Mahina. We didn't e en to to viewpoint at Maroto Restaurant. Very disappointed.

In Pape’ete you do your customers a disservice by only allowing a limited number of pickup points and then not telling the providers that that's what you have done. Every single one of them assumed that we were booked at the pickup hotel. It made the experience uncomfortable and less efficient.

Leonie is such an amazing guide! The roads that typically the tour takes, on one side of the island were unfortunately washed out due to so much rain the past few days, but Leonie still found a way to make the tour amazing for us and took another way to see some amazing scenery. She is an incredible person and taught us so much about the island and the great people here. I would not have been able to see even a quarter of what we did if not for Leonie. Fantastic scenery ready at 8.45 we didn’t get going from the supermarket till 10.00. Scenery was stunning and very dramatic unlike anything we’ve experienced in French Polynesia. Would have liked water provided.

We had an absolutely fantastic time exploring the Papenoo Valley by jeep. If you are looking for an incredible experience, I cannot recommend this tour highly enough! Our guide was wonderful—so kind, helpful, and, most importantly, an incredibly skilled driver. The roads through the valley are very narrow and rugged, but she was a total professional. We felt completely safe and at ease with her behind the wheel the entire time. The trip lasted about 8 hours and included several great stops. One of the highlights was a refreshing break to swim in a beautiful natural pool, accompanied by a lovely snack. It’s clear that she has deep local knowledge, as she knew every hidden corner of the valley perfectly. I wouldn’t think of booking with anyone else. If you want a safe, authentic, and fun adventure, look no further!

While our guide on the tour through the heart of Tahiti was very knowledgeable and quite kind, I can’t recommend this trip to anyone else. Not because of the company but because the trip is 8 hours of being “bumpy” roads. It was more than bumpy, it was so jarring I felt like I was being beaten for 8 long hours. My husband was so car sick he could not enjoy any of it

However, we would like to clarify an important point regarding the route: it is not 8 hours of continuous bumpy roads. The tour alternates between paved roads, cement roads, more uneven tracks, as well as stops in the valley, at viewpoints, and at natural sites, in order to fully enjoy the landscapes and visits. We do understand that comfort perception can vary from one person to another, especially for those sensitive to motion sickness, and we regret that this may have affected your experience.
