Deze snelle tour is ideaal als je weinig tijd hebt en zoveel mogelijk van de stad wilt zien, of als je meerdere langere tours hebt gemaakt en gewoon de hoogtepunten van het Garden District wilt zien. Het is een snelle, leuke excursie door deze unieke en historische wijk. Het is een zeer visuele rondleiding, met minder nadruk op verhalen vertellen of geschiedenis, maar je gids geeft je een kort overzicht van de geschiedenis en wijst op architecturale elementen. We behandelen de meest indrukwekkende huizen in het Garden District en stoppen ook bij Lafayette Cemetery #1. De begraafplaats is gesloten, maar de poorten zijn breed genoeg om naar binnen te kijken en geweldige foto's te maken!

45 minutes was the perfect amount of time to get a good tour but still be comfortable in the summer heat. Libby was very knowledgeable and a great storyteller. I appreciated that she asked if we had any specific sights we wanted to see first! I would definitely book a tour again!

We had such an amazing architectural tour of the Garden District with Libby! Even though the tour was only 45 minutes long, she packed an incredible amount of history, architecture, and local knowledge into every minute. Of course the homes are breathtaking, but what really made the experience special was learning to appreciate all of the details we otherwise may not have noticed. Libby pointed out everything from the special landscapes and native trees to the intricate iron gates, historic architectural features, and even the iconic gas lanterns. She had so much knowledge about both the past and present of every home. She helped us see the neighborhood through a deeply intricate lens. Libby is engaging, fun, and insightful which kept everyone interested from start to finish. You can tell she has an extensive knowledge not only of the Garden District, but of New Orleans as a whole and its rich, layered history. She answered questions thoughtfully and shared amazing detailed stories that made the neighborhood come alive. This ended up being one of our favorite experiences of the trip. We left with a much deeper appreciation for the beauty, history, and character of both the Garden District and New Orleans as a whole and we would absolutely recommend taking a tour with Libby to anyone visiting the city. The 45 min tour is nice if you’re short on time or struggle with the heat for long periods. She made sure there was lots of time in the shade.

My husband and I visited NOLA for the first time to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We wanted to get away from Bourbon St. for a bit before our dinner reservation. This tour was just perfect and exactly what we were looking for. It is not a huge time commitment but we still felt like we saw and learned a lot in a short period of time. We loved seeing the beautiful homes and learning about the history of Nola. Libby was awesome. She has a great energy and is very knowledgeable. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this tour!
