Leer uit de eerste hand de fascinerende geschiedenis van de hoofdstad van Servië met een begeleide wandeling. Dit is de perfecte activiteit om een introductie te krijgen in Belgrado en een overzicht van de stad te hebben. De tour begint voor de Saint Sava-tempel en eindigt bij het fort Kalemegdan, wat betekent dat elke topattractie van Belgrado deel uitmaakt van deze 4 uur durende (wandel) reis door de geschiedenis van Belgrado.

De tour begint op het Vracar-plateau, waar u een van de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden van Belgrado zult zien: de Saint Sava-tempel, de op een na grootste orthodoxe kerk in heel Europa met een prachtige crypte en een grote koepel vol mozaïeken. Onze gids vertelt je het verhaal over de eerste Servische koninklijke familie en de eerste Servische aartsbisschop Rastko Nemanjic. Op hetzelfde plateau zie je ook het standbeeld van Nikola Tesla, een van de grootste wetenschappers aller tijden, en de bouw van de Nationale Bibliotheek, gebouwd tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog.
De tour gaat verder naar het Slavija-plein, genoemd naar een van de oudste hotels in Belgrado, gebouwd in 1888. Dit is een van de grootste pleinen in Belgrado, waar 7 straten elkaar kruisen. Hier vertelt onze gids je boeiend verhaal over Belgrado Phantom. Na Slavija Square gaan we naar King Milan Street en een kleiner, maar charmant plein genaamd Flower Square met twee belangrijke culturele gebouwen voor Serviërs. De eerste is het Joegoslavische Drama Theater herbouwd in 2003, en de tweede is het Studenten Cultureel Centrum, waar de eerste rock en roll-performance werd gehouden in Belgrado.
De Resavska-straat leidt ons naar de St. Mark-kerk, gelegen in het op een na grootste park in Belgrado, het Tasmajdan-park. In de richting van het centrum van de stad passeren enkele belangrijke overheidsgebouwen, zoals het Servische nationale parlement, het oude en het nieuwe paleis.
Op weg naar het belangrijkste Plein van de Republiek passeren we nog twee kleinere pleintjes genaamd Nikola Pasic Square en Terazije Square met het mooiste hotel in Belgrado, hotel "Moskou".
Op het Plein van de Republiek, dat wordt beschouwd als het belangrijkste ontmoetingspunt in de stad zelf, ziet u het Nationaal Theater, het Nationaal Museum en het monument gewijd aan een van de grootste Servische heersers, prins Mihail Obrenovic.
Daarna maken we een wandeling door de Knez Mihailova-straat, de belangrijkste wandel- en winkelzone. Deze drukke en levendige straat leidt ons naar het fort Kalemegdan / Belgrado.
De laatste stop is het fort Kalemegdan, een belangrijke bezienswaardigheid in Belgrado. Het wordt beschouwd als het museum in de open lucht gebouwd tussen de 1e en de 18e eeuw en meer dan 100 keer belegerd. Het fort zelf is verdeeld in de Boven- en Benedenstad, met vele bezienswaardigheden, van de Romeinse put, de Nebojsa-toren, het Militair Museum en het Victor Monument - het belangrijkste symbool van de stad Belgrado.

AMAZING INTRODUCTION TO BELGRADE My wife and I booked this private walking tour of Belgrade at the last minute due to a dropped ball by another tour operator. This turned out to be the best possible outcome and set an excellent tone at the start of our 5 days in Belgrade. Our Tour Guide was Nina, who is an exceptional guide with a happy personality and a deep knowledge of Belgrade, of Serbia and of the history of the Balkans. She tailored the pacing of the tour to allow us more time in St Sava Church and to explore to city and the fort. It was a memorable experience that led to us booking several more tours with Serbia Inspired Tours. Our visit to Belgrade would not have been so successful if we had not met Nina and her sister Jelena, (who is also a tour guide). My wife and I have traveled widely and this was one of the best experiences I have ever had exploring a city and country for the first time.

Nina was really amazing... and Jelena from the office as well. Belgrade was not included in the regular agency tours we were offered, we decided to drive from Sarayevo and scheduled Zagreb as our last stop. The drive was DEFINITELY worth it. Belgrade is beautiful. The churches are astonishing, the fort a historic showcase, and Skalardija was enchanting.
