The tour is very well organized: transportation, accommodation and of course activities on reserves. J1 Pickup at the airport for transfer to Hoedspruit (6h). There we are greeted by David who drives us to the camp after a quick lunch. Set up camp in a superb lodge tent, with every comfort. Departure for the Sunset safari. From the first day we see many animals: giraffes, impalas, wildebeest, zebras, rhinoceros, and even lions! Dinner at camp with Lloyd and David. Gladys has regaled us with South African specialties. D2 Cruise on the Blyde river very well despite a sullen weather and visit the rehabilitation center where we see two beautiful white lions. D3 leaves at dawn with Lloyd for Kruger Park. We meet a lot of animals, a herd of elephants with babies, birds and even a pack of wild dogs. Lloyd is a passionate and exciting guide. It's been an exceptional day. Day four, morning walk with Lloyd. We follow the fresh tracks of the animals. And always full of exciting explanations. Back to Hoedspruit with David. Many thanks to you 3 for your welcome and these wonderful moments of discovery and sharing. I highly recommend.
Thank you Sabine. You guys are amazing, and we enjoyed every moment with you. It fills us with a good feeling to know that you enjoyed the experience, and that you can reflect on the amazing sightings and times had. Thank you for joining a tour, and for your kind words. kindest regards from Lloyd, David and Gladys
They take care of EVERYTHING. They show up on time, scoop you from where you are, and provide such a smooth itinerary that is easy to follow and incredibly informative. I can't think of any other tours I've taken across the globe that were as worth it as this one.
Hello Sean. We thank you so much for sharing your sentiments of the experience with us in the Kruger Park and surrounds. Your appreciating gives us more perspective and drive to try provide a memorable and informed experience. Thank you Sean, your words reach out hearts... Best wishes and kind regards from Lloyd, David and Gladys (Ps. We will be checking out the golf presentations. Amazing)
The “4-Day Safari” at Kruger Park proved quite disappointing The reality is it was just two days. The first day was lost in the rather awkward journey from Johannesburg. Upon arrival we were taken straight to the “sunset safari” that was a fiasco: we went round a private reserve where there were no animals expected, or at least we didn’t see them. Then, when we went to the accommodation, we were not given the one we had hired but a substandard one, in a camp next to the one hired, with the additional discomfort of having to move the next day. When we finally got to the contracted room, it didn’t even have soap or shampoo (neither delivered later, when we noticed it), and at no time was it cleaned. The hot tub (or whatever it is called) was also not available. The food was mediocre. The last day we were only taken on a half-hour absurd hike up a hill without any attraction, and from there we were taken on the bus back to Johannesburg (a completely lost day). Specifically we only had one day in Kruger Park, which got short and did not allow us to see the different animals. The camp is far from the park (an hour's drive) and you lose a lot of time on the road, as well as having to leave the park very early and miss the best hours. The “cruise” the day before was in a beautiful place, but we saw neither crocodiles nor hippos as promised.
Thank you Juan for your sentiments, we take this very seriously, and will take this opportunity to clarify any misunderstandings and grievances, and apologise for any inconvenience caused during the tour. It is always vital to ensure that all details and itineraries for tours should be thoroughly read and understood by yourself about the travel details to and from the tour destination, scheduled activities and information provided before a tour is booked. On each day upon arrival in Hoedspruit, there is a scheduled activity every day, to maximise the opportunity to see wildlife and scenery. As Kruger National Park is on average a 5 – 6 hour travel by road from Johannesburg, or 1 hour flight, this should be accounted for, as part of our organised tour, unless a pick-up is arranged in our nearest town Hoedspruit as a starting point. The shuttle by road to and from Johannesburg is with a reputable shuttle service, with free wifi on board, well maintained shuttle buses, and qualified drivers. At times, due to traffic or late pick-ups, the arrival time in Hoedspruit town can be delayed, thus limiting the time to partake on the private reserve sunset safari on day 1. Thus we only had the option to take you directly to the sunset safari, instead of our camp first. This is at times challenging in the winter months when activities start much earlier than in summer months, and limiting our schedules. Every safari in a wildlife reserve is unpredictable, and as the wild animals have the freedom to move around freely, and not always be in areas that are accessible on a safari, sightings will differ from hour to hour and day to day. If there was not much seen on the sunset safari, then that is unfortunate and not the fault of the guides. Although, other guests that were on the same safari did enjoy seeing a giraffe drinking water at close range, zebra,s, various antelope, flora, and birds seen on the safari, and enjoyed the off road experience with professional guides. This safari is within the Greater Kruger Conservancy, which essentially is considered to be part of a Kruger Park experience. The essence of the tour is to enjoy everything seen within the total amount of days spent on tour. On the safari in Kruger Park, we saw African wild dogs (which are highly endangered predators and rare to see), along with spotted hyena's, countless elephants, cape buffalo herds, hippopotamus, crocodile, general common animals, and bird life throughout the day. The day ended with a sighting of a lioness, where unfortunately our time was limited due to the gate closing time for Kruger Park (so we did not leave early and lose any safari time. We left the main gate at 18h00 at closing time). We apologise if these sightings were not to your liking. The nature walk on the last morning is focused on enjoying the smaller wonders and to appreciate being in nature, thus some traditional plant explanations were discussed and birds seen. There were tracks and signs of hippopotamus, antelope and chacma baboons on the walk. Apologies if it was not enjoyable. With regards to the boat cruise in the Blyde River Canyon. Yes it is very beautiful as you mentioned. It is surprising that you have mentioned that no hippo's or crocodiles were seen, as the other guests on tour, on the same cruise, do recall seeing hippo's, small crocodiles, antelope, primates, birds, and admired the scenery of the canyon, which is the main attraction on the boat cruise. We will never 'PROMISE' sightings of any animals, as there is never a guarantee of where wild animals will be, so we emphasise that it is always a possibility. We do apologise if you were not satisfied with the accommodation. As we do have 2 variations of glamping safari tent accommodations, we do alternate in the high busy season when of the accommodations are fully booked. The first nights accommodation was not a lower grade accommodation, and ask kindly to emphasise as to why you felt that it was a lower grade accommodation. We do apologise for the inconvenience to have changed accommodations on day 2, but we ensured to have your luggage safely moved when you were on the activities to allow for an easy transition. Concerning personal toiletries like shampoo or soap, it is mentioned in all our advertising that these are to be for your own accord as accommodations are based on self catering and most travellers prefer their own brand of soaps. Shops are available throughout the tour to purchase personal belongings. Towels are provided for all accommodations. As for the 'JACUZZI', or 'HOT TUB', a uniquely designed outdoor hot tub which is heated by fire, we prepared and heated for you on both nights when you were in the waterside glamping tent. It is unfortunate that you did not make use of it, as we did inform you that it was heated for use, with complimentary firewood supplied by us. It is unfortunate that the meals were only mediocre in your opinion as all other guests on tour at the same time complimented and were very happy with the fresh ingredients and variety in the meals. As we also took extra measures to ensure to provide for your wife’s Celiac disease(gluten free) request for the meals, we took extra care to prepare and serve meals separately, and wash utensils separately to ensure that there was no cross contamination. We are situated closer to Orpen gate than many operators in our region, and many operators have to drive even 1,5 hours to reach the nearest entry gate to Kruger Park, as most are situated on the border of the park. Our camp is only 45 kilometres from Orpen gate, and the journey to the gate takes 40 – 50 minutes, as we drive slower in the open safari vehicle for safety reasons for our guests. In final appreciation for your review, we do want to apologise for any grievances and inconveniences on your tour. We would like to mention though that other guests, and myself on the tour were not pleased with your conduct on safari at times, as you were rushing sightings and commenting 'ok lets go' to keep moving on, and not allowing fellow guests to enjoy and appreciate the sightings and explanations. This is perhaps something to consider when you join another safari in future. We respect nature, and wild animals in their natural habitat. We feel privileged to interpret what is experienced on the tour. We also respect every client that joins a tour, and the well being of every client is a priority. We do hope that your next experience in a wild environment will be more satisfactory. We do appreciate your insight and review on your experience, and will improve our service accordingly as per your opinion and experience, and appreciate that you joined a tour. We wish you safe travels in the future. Kind regards Lloyd Cronk
Thank you so much for some amazing days in South Africa! We can highly recommend a trip to Kruger with Lloyd and David – knowledgeable, warm-hearted, and welcoming hosts. You shared your knowledge in an incredibly engaging way. We're heading back to Norway with great memories and unforgettable experiences! Thank you from Cathrine and Nikolai.
Thank you Cathrine and Nikolai. It was such a pleasure and privilege to host you guys. Thank you for sharing your knowledge about Norway with us, and for the great times on tour. We are so happy that you enjoyed all the wildlife sightings, and that you felt at home. Thank you for the chocolates!! Kindest regards from Lloyd, David and Gladys.
This 4 day experience was unforgetable. Lloyd and David were personable and accommodating hosts. It was the trip of a lifetime. We enjoyed that this itinerary had diversity from the private game drive, to the day in Kruger Park, visit to the wildlife rehabilitation center, and even the boat river cruise in Blyde River Canyon. We stayed in the luxury tent accommodation which was very unique and unlike anything I have ever experienced. The home cooked breakfasts and dinners were also incredible. We had a chance to appreciate South Africa from different perspectives in nature, animals, and even from the cuisine. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to embrace South African culture.
Thank you Emily and Jessica for joining a tour. It was a pleasure and privilege to host you both. The wildlife sightings, friendly chats and enduring the cold were enjoyed alike. Good luck with your nursing careers in the States. Kind regards from David, Gladys and Lloyd.
The 4-day / 3-nights experience with Lloyd & team was absolutely fantastic and we'd recommend it without reservations. Everything went smoothly. I travelled with my mother. We found the package had the perfect schedule for us. We loved seeing the animals, the beautiful landscapes and learned so much. Kruger was amazing of course, but it was also really nice to get to see Blyde River Canyon, the wildlife rehab centre, meeting such lovely people, go on a bush walk and on the sunset safari at a private game reserve nearby. We also really enjoyed the lovely space for breakfast and cozy campfire atmosphere by the lake in the evenings. Lloyd was extremely accommodating with my coeliac disease and all the food was prepared safely gluten free and delicious. Travelling as a coeliac can be challenging and I will forever be grateful to the team for making this very special experience possible and adjusting to my dietary requirements. Thank you Safarii team, we hope to be back!
Hello Julia and Diane. Thank you for your kind words. We are very pleased that we accommodated for your dietary requirements to your liking and very happy to have been able to host you both. We truly do hope to see you again and wish you both safe journeys and amazing experiences.. Kindest regards from Lloyd, David and Gladys.
Excelent experience. Lloyd and David were deeply kind and had incredible knowledge on both the area and the animals around. Strong recommend!
Thank you greatly for joining a tour and sharing your journey with us. David and I really appreciate your honest review and wish you all the best. Kind regards, Lloyd
Excellent tour, we met and saw many wild animals, of the big 5 we lacked the rhino, Lloyd and David's attention was exceptional, rich food and quantity.
We thank you greatly for your review and are really pleased that you enjoyed the experience with Safarii Travel. Kind regards from Lloyd and David
We recently had the privilege of embarking on a meticulously curated four-day program that perfectly balanced adventure, exploration, and intimate encounters with South Africa’s stunning natural and cultural heritage. From magical safaris to awe-inspiring landscapes and meaningful experiences, this journey was unforgettable. A special thanks goes to David and Lloyd, whose outstanding planning and warm, attentive care ensured a seamless and enriching experience from start to finish. Day 1: Magical Sunset Safari in a Private Game Reserve Our journey began with a sunset safari in a private game reserve, setting the tone for the days ahead. At sunset, we encountered many animals as rhinos grazing peacefully, nimble impalas, and warthogs scurrying playfully. Day 2: A Full-Day Safari in Kruger National Park Day two was entirely devoted to exploring the world-famous Kruger National Park, and it exceeded all expectations. With David and Lloyd’s careful planning, we were accompanied by a skilled and knowledgeable guide Goodman, who ensured we didn’t miss a single moment of the park’s wonders. The day unfolded with unforgettable sightings: elephants splashing playfully at a waterhole and lions lounging in the shade. The combination of breathtaking wildlife and expert guidance made this safari an unparalleled experience. Day 3: Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation Centre and Blyde River Canyon Our third day began with a visit to the Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation Centre, a facility dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife. During the tour, we learned about the center’s important conservation efforts. The highlight was meeting some of the animals up close, including a black leopard and a majestic eagle. The passionate team at Moholoholo inspired us with their commitment to protecting South Africa’s wildlife, leaving us with appreciation for the hard work involved in conservation. After the visit, we journeyed to the Blyde River Canyon, one of South Africa’s most breathtaking natural landmarks. The green cliffs and sweeping views of the canyon were astonishing. A boat cruise along the Blyde Dam offered a unique perspective on this stunning landscape, spotting crocodiles sunning themselves and hippos bobbing near the surface. Our guide’s insights into the canyon’s geology and ecosystems added depth to the experience, making it both visually and intellectually enriching. Day 4: Nature Walk and Hidden Wonders Around the Lodge Our final day was a exploration of the natural world surrounding our accommodation. A guided nature walk allowed us to slow down and marvel at the small but equally fascinating details of the bush. Lloyd introduced us to the industrious lives of termites, the shimmering beauty of beetles, and the vibrant colors of local birdlife. The walk was a perfect conclusion to our journey, offering a deeper understanding of the ecosystem and a sense of connection to the wilderness. Exceptional Planning and Warm Hospitality What truly elevated this experience was the exceptional planning and genuine care provided by David and Lloyd. Their attention to detail was remarkable—from ensuring seamless transitions between activities to arranging knowledgeable and passionate guides who enriched every moment. Their warm hospitality made us feel valued and cared for throughout the trip, adding a personal touch that made the experience unforgettable. We left South Africa with a deep sense of wonder and appreciation for its natural and cultural treasures. We cannot recommend this program highly enough—it is more than a journey; it is an experience that will stay with you forever.
Thank you Anna and Jan for joining a tour with us. It was a pleasure to host you guys, and be able to have been part of your journey in South Africa. Thank you for your thorough review, and we hope that your travels continue to be inspiring and safe. Kind regards, Lloyd and David.
We had the most Fantastic experience in the Kruger Park with SAFARII TRAVEL They organised transport from Johannesburg to the park (Hoedspruit)and back. Our Hosts Lloyd, David,Trista gave us such a great time. Lloyd is passionate about his work - he shared his amazing knowledge about all the animals, birds & fauna. We got to see the big 5. We went to a rehabilitation centre to see how they cared for injured animals. The boat ride on Blyde River Canyon was spectacular. On our last day we went on a Bush walk with Lloyd where he pointed out various plants, carcasses that leopards and hyenas had eaten. We stayed in a 2 bedroom luxury tent with bathroom and kitchen- this was very comfortable. Every night Lloyd and Trista cooked us an amazing large dinner- traditional South African food. You won’t starve! We can’t recommend them enough if you want an AMAZING EXPERIENCE in the Kruger Park.
Greatest of thanks David and Julie for an awesome time on tour. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the experience and we are grateful that you made us part of your journey. Kindest regards and safe travels, from Lloyd, Trista and David.
