Het echte Miami ontvouwt zich op Calle Ocho, waar de lucht ruikt naar verse espresso en handgerolde sigaren, en elk blok vertelt een verhaal van overleven, soul en ongelooflijk eten. Tijdens deze wandeling door Little Havana, een wijk die is uitgeroepen tot Nationale Schat, proef je 7+ authentieke Cubaanse gerechten : schilferige guave pastelitos, hartige hamkroketten, een perfect geperst Cubaans broodje, knapperige mariquita's en een volledige traditionele Cubaanse maaltijd. Spoel het allemaal weg met een Cubaanse koffie, een sociaal ritueel waar de lokale bevolking bij zweert. Onderweg bezoek je het Varkensbaaimonument, neem je een kijkje achter de schermen bij een echte sigarenfabriek en ga je naar het legendarische Dominopark, waar de tegels klikken en het lachen nooit stopt. Nog één ding : een verrassing Secret Dish, alleen onthuld op de dag. Boek je plek in een kleine groep, of maak het helemaal van jou. Ontmoet je gids bij het Bay of Pigs Memorial om deze culturele wandeltocht te beginnen door een bescheiden maar evoluerende wijk, met een caleidoscoop van cultuur, traditionele gebruiken en levendige kleuren. Slenter door straten die de plaats markeren van geheime rituele offers, de locatie waar de Varkensbaai was gepland, en de fontein van de jeugd voor de volwassen bewoner.
Je zult ontdekken welke sigaar JFK zo lekker vond dat hij de hele nationale voorraad opkocht voordat hij het embargo passeerde. Geniet van een leuke en informatieve wandeling door Little Havana. Proef enkele klassieke Cubaanse hapjes, zoals een Cubaanse sandwich, gebakken bakbananen, geroosterd varkensvlees en Cubaanse koffie in een familierestaurant. Our tour guide Cesar was the best! He was very energetic and made sure we had a great time, very knowledgeable as well. Request him if you can! The food portion was well worth it, we had some really good authentic Cuban cuisine. Bought a few suveniors after our tour. Highly recommend if you’re staying in the Miami area!

We had a great afternoon with Cesar! From the start he was enthusiastic and knowledgeable with a great sense of humour! Mixed with great food and drink, the visits to the cigar maker and the Cubavera clothing store were equally interesting.. again with lots of great info from Cesar. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to hear about the history of Cuba and Little Havana and also wants to sample some excellent Cuban food.

This was our first trip to Miami (for the football World Cup) and we were keen to learn about the food and history of the Little Havana area. Our Guide, Kayan, was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Little Havana and its people and happily introduced us to many local characters who are influential in the neighbourhood. Kayan communicated well the importance of Cuban culture through its food. We ate and drank in different places and it was all delicious. I would happily recommend this tour with Kayan - time well spent.

This was an excellent tour with Kayan. Kayan is very knowledgeable and knows a lot of people in Little Havana. He passed on a huge amount of information about the history in a very friendly, fun way - not just about our stops but other institutions too! The food stops were delicious and the last stop (the store and museum) was fascinating. We’d thoroughly recommend the tour and I would love to visit the neighborhood again for longer
