Drie hoofdsteden, één onvergetelijke dag — met een route die is opgebouwd rond jouw energie, niet de kaart. We rijden eerst naar Boedapest, terwijl je fris bent : je Gids vult de weg met het verhaal van het Habsburgse rijk, dus het uitzicht vanaf het Vissersbastion over de Donau en het Parlement betekent al iets. Wandel over de heuvel van de Burcht van Boeda, bekijk de Kettingbrug en de Matthiaskerk en voel waarom Boedapest het "Parijs van het Oosten" wordt genoemd. Vrije tijd voor de lunch — Jenny wijst je op haar favoriete lokale plekjes (op eigen kosten). De terugkeer is gebroken precies waar het zou moeten zijn: in Bratislava, een compacte middeleeuwse oude stad — kroningskathedraal, eigenzinnige bronzen beelden, uitzicht op het kasteel. En het gedeelte waar onze gasten dol op zijn : van Bratislava is het slechts ongeveer een uur terug naar Wenen. Wij zijn Jenny & Vlad, een team van twee personen : professionele chauffeur en erkende Gids & fotograaf. We zijn altijd eerlijk over afstanden — dit is een volledige dag met echt rijden tussen drie landen, en we hebben elk uur ontworpen om comfortabel te zijn.

Uw privéchauffeur en Gids halen u op bij uw hotel in Wenen. Schilderachtige ochtendrit naar Boedapest (ongeveer 2,5 uur) — live commentaar, koffie en fotostops op aanvraag. Ga lekker zitten terwijl we naar het oosten rijden over de Hongaarse grens. Gebruik deze tijd om te luisteren naar de geschiedenis van het Oostenrijks-Hongaarse Rijk of gewoon een dutje te doen om je voor te bereiden op de dag.
Welkom in de majestueuze hoofdstad van Hongarije! We beginnen onze verkenningstocht aan de heuvelachtige Buda kant, waar de geschiedenis uitkijkt over de Donau. Dankzij uw privéchauffeur omzeilen we de zware klim en rijden we rechtstreeks naar het hart van het kasteeldistrict. Hier kunt u de prachtige buitenkant van de Matthiaskerk bewonderen, beroemd om zijn levendige, veelkleurige pannendak dat gloeit in het zonlicht. Op steenworp afstand bezoeken we de sprookjesachtige torens van het Vissersbastion. Vanaf de terrassen geniet u van het meest iconische panoramische uitzicht op het Hongaarse parlement en de rivier beneden – een perfect moment voor onvergetelijke foto's voordat we naar de andere kant van de stad oversteken. Voordat we vertrekken, kunnen we stoppen voor de lunch op basis van uw voorkeur : we kunnen aanschuiven voor een traditionele, verwarmende Goulash-soep (of vissoep) hier in het kasteeldistrict, of als u liever een lichtere optie hebt om tijd te besparen, kunnen we later wat broodjes pakken aan de Pest-kant.
Vervolgens rijden we over de Donau via de Margarethabrug, langs het groene Margaretha-eiland. Deze route biedt het meest verbluffende, onbelemmerde uitzicht op het neogotische parlementsgebouw dat in de rivier reflecteert – een perfecte fotomogelijkheid. Op de vlakke Pest-kant rijden we langs de enorme omvang van het Parlement van dichtbij en staan we voor de prachtige Sint-Stefanusbasiliek, de grootste kerk van de stad. Als u geïnteresseerd bent in geschiedenis, kunnen we ook een korte wandeling maken naar de rivieroever om de "Schoenen op de Donauoever" te zien, een diep ontroerend gedenkteken voor de slachtoffers van de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Dit bezoek is optioneel en geheel afhankelijk van uw wensen en energieniveau voordat we naar Slowakije vertrekken.
Na de lunch verlaten we Hongarije en gaan richting Slowakije. De rit duurt ongeveer 2 uur, waardoor u een perfecte gelegenheid heeft om uit te rusten en uw indrukken (en lunch) te verwerken.
We komen aan in Bratislava, de charmante "Kroningsstad", die een prachtig contrast biedt met de weidse grandeur van Boedapest. Hier is alles intiem en beloopbaar. We maken een ontspannen wandeling door het voetgangersgebied van de oude binnenstad, passeren onder de middeleeuwse Michael's Gate en bewonderen het historische oude stadhuis. U ziet de Sint-Maartenskathedraal, waar Hongaarse koningen werden gekroond, en jaagt op de beroemde grillige bronzen beelden van de stad, waaronder "Cumil" de rioolwerker die uit een mangat gluurt. Dit bezoek is de perfecte, ontspannende manier om de benen te strekken en te genieten van de gezellige sfeer voor de laatste korte rit terug naar Wenen.
Bratislava → Wenen : slechts 1 uur — de kortste etappe voor het laatst bewaard. Ontspan op de achterbank terwijl uw chauffeur u veilig terugbrengt naar uw hotel en een onvergetelijke dag van drie hoofdsteden afsluit.

Fascinating trip to multiple places. There is nothing better when traveling than having a knowledgeable and experienced guide. Jenny has a university degree in History from Bratislava, and she uses her deep experience to weave together stories of the politics, religion, and historical personalities involved in the castles, churches, and memorials that we visited. Vlad our driver was very professional and safe. I appreciated that we could be dropped off and picked up very close to tourist entrances. So much better than a large bus service that parks a distance away and mandates a long walk to the place of interest. Budapest is one of the grand European capitals which should not be missed. The architecture was stunning. Bratislava has a very Slavic feel, different from nearby Vienna which is surprising as they are only an hour’s drive apart. I would highly recommend both this tour and others provided by CozyTravel. The personal service , communication and reliability are invaluable.

We had booked a private tour from Vienna to Bratislava and Budapest, but the driver never showed up and we received no communication. Bad experience and totally unreliable, trip ruined and service absolutely not recommended.

Jenny and her partner, Vladimir, were amazing guides. Vladimir was a very safe driver and let us out at convenient spots so we didn’t spend unnecessary time searching for parking. Jenny’s knowledge of the history and culture of Budapest and Bratislava was amazing. They were both kind and caring about our needs. Jenny and her partner were super knowledgeable, friendly and very reliable. They recommended excellent restaurant in Budapest and fantastic ice cream shop in Bratislava. Their car was very comfortable, even having the possibility of reclining a little the seats to take a nap while driving between the cities. We had a fantastic day trip to Bratislava and Budapest. Our guides Jenny and her husband picked us up at our hotel to start our full day tour. They were both extremely knowledgeable about the history, geography and peoples from both capitals and gave us an excellent and thorough tour of these beautiful cities. They were very friendly and great guides and hosts. They made sure we comfortable and saw all the most interesting parts of the cities at a very easy and relaxed pace. We had plenty of time to look, ask questions, stop for and shop for souvenirs.
