Retro Tours Noorwegen is een bedrijf dat stadstours aanbiedt in Oslo met behulp van retro-stijl motoren met zijspannen. We kunnen maximaal 2 passagiers per fiets vervoeren, dus als u de bezienswaardigheden en geluiden van deze prachtige stad op een andere en unieke manier wilt ervaren, kom het dan eens proberen. Je zult er geen spijt van krijgen! Uw ruiter / Gids neemt u mee door het stadscentrum, langs Stortinget (parlementsgebouw) en het Koninklijk Paleis. Vanaf het Paleis gaan we verder omhoog naar het Holmenkollen Ski Jump Centre. Hier ziet u een prachtig uitzicht op Oslo en de omliggende fjord. Vervolgens bezoeken we Vigelands Parken, de site van meer dan 200 bronzen en granieten sculpturen gemaakt door Gustav Vigeland. Vervolgens gaan we verder naar Bygdøy, de site van verschillende musea, waaronder Kon-Tiki, Fram, Vikingschepen en volksmusea. Naast onze 2 uur durende tours kunnen we ook op aanvraag rondleidingen op maat aanbieden (1 - 3 uur durende tours, halve of hele dag tours en groepsboekingen beschikbaar). Alle haltes zijn optioneel. Routes kunnen worden gewijzigd.

Onze eerste stop is het Noorse parlementsgebouw (Stortinget) naast de Karl Johans Gate, de beroemde winkelstraat van Oslo. Dit biedt een uitstekende gelegenheid om het parlementsgebouw te zien en enkele van de Karl Johans Gate-winkels en -cafés te bekijken.
Als onderdeel van een van onze rondleidingen door de stad komen we langs het paleis en zijn terrein. Beschikbaar om hier te stoppen indien gevraagd,
Je beleeft een fantastische rit door Oslo naar het skischanscentrum Holmenkollen en krijgt close-up uitzicht op de skischanstoren en arena, evenals een uitstekend panoramisch uitzicht op Oslo en de omliggende fjord. Het skimuseum bevindt zich naast de skischans Holmenkollen en toont meer dan 4000 jaar skigeschiedenis. Voor degenen die verfrissingen nodig hebben, biedt Frognerseter eten en drinken met nog meer fantastische uitzichten over de stad en de Oslo Fjord.
We kunnen stoppen bij Vigelands Parken als u enkele van de sculpturen van Gustav Vigeland (1869-1943) wilt zien. Dit is een 32 hectare groot openbaar park met meer dan 200 bronzen en granieten sculpturen die mensen van verschillende leeftijden, geslachten en maten afbeelden. Het Frogner Stadium en het openluchtzwembad bevinden zich ook in het park. Als je van rozen houdt, is het ook vermeldenswaard dat je hier de grootste collectie van Noorwegen vindt met meer dan 150 soorten van in totaal meer dan 40.000 planten.
Uiteindelijk gaan we naar het schiereiland Bygdøy, een grote toeristische attractie voor liefhebbers van musea. Dit is waar de Kontiki-, Fram-, Maritieme, Vikingschepen- en Volksmusea zich bevinden, evenals het Koninklijk zomerhuis. Als u wilt blijven en een van de musea wilt bezoeken, kunt u met de reguliere veerdienst terugkeren naar Aker Brygge (vertrekt vlak bij het Kontiki-museum). Toegangsprijzen voor musea en attracties niet inbegrepen.

Houd er rekening mee dat ophalen bij de cruiseterminal geen optie meer is, omdat deze is gesloten. Our guide Helge was personable and knowledgeable and even thought it was a very rainy day, the tour was still fun. I would love to do this again on a sunny day.
Overall, experience was excellent and exceeded expectations. Our guide, Oystein, arrived on time and made us feel very comfortable from the start. He was a very nice person and very informative, a great guide. Gave us fantastic facts about Oslo throughout our tour and took us to amazing places that you would not typically see as a tourist. So nice that our retro bike brought many smiles from people along our journey. We’ve never done something like this before. It is must experience whilst in Oslo - go for it!

Probably the highlight of an already wonderful trip. We went as a party of 4 on 2 bikes, with 2 guides, who were such fun & very knowledgeable. It couldn’t have been better!

So. Much. Fun. Easy on-time pick-up at the cruise port, great communication beforehand. Runer was a terrific guide, very interesting life story and insightful commentary about the city and Norway in general. We hit all the highlights of Oslo, including about a 15 minute drop-off to walk through Vigeland Sculpture Park. The motorcycles were very cool and garnered a lot of attention from passersby. Note that you do not drive the motorbike--you either ride on the back or in the side car. Highly, highly recommend--you won't be disappointed.

Yes sadly, for many reasons (one being the very different techniques required to ride with a sidecar), we are unable to offer self ride tours. That said, for most people it’s a lot of fun being shown around the city of Oslo in this somewhat different and unique way. So pleased you also enjoyed it! We had a great time seeing the highlights of Oslo and some additional out of the way sites. Our driver was very knowledgeable about the area and answered all of our questions. If you are comfortable on the back or sidecar of a motorcycle; highly recommend.

Great way to see a lot of the city that you wouldn't otherwise be able to do in a short period of time on your own or through a cruise ship excursion. The person in the sidecar will not be able to see things on the left hand side as the cycle driver's position is what it is and blocks that side. I was riding behind the driver and could talk to and hear his responses, but the person in the sidecar couldn't due to the noise of the motor and the fact their wasn't a way to communicate with the driver. It would be wonderful if that issue was fixed where the person in the sidecar could hear the commentary of the driver and everyone could talk. But all in all, I found the money well spent and a great way to see much of Oslo. Moreover, my Norweign relatives had no idea this tour in a motorcycle existed and found the concept great. Finally, the tour operator picked us up where the ship docked and dropped us off where we asked, which was at the Fram Museum so we could see more without figuring out how to get there. Right there at the Fram Museaum was a ferry that took us back to the harbor not far from the ship.
Hi Steve, thanks very much for your feedback. You make some valid points particularly regarding communications. We have purposefully stayed away from having an intercom system as we feel this would detract from the retro feel of our tours. It also minimises distractions for our rider/guides. However with a generally slow riding pace through the city along with plenty of stops, we haven’t yet found this to be a problem. Even at traffic lights there’s normally time for some chat! The drop off by the museums at Bygdøy is a great choice if you want to visit them at the end of your tour. As you mentioned the ferry takes you back to Akerbrygge in the city.
