Je zult absoluut versteld staan van de geweldige stranden en panorama's op het eiland, terwijl je geruisloos met de kajak over kristalhelder water glijdt, zie je de onderwaterfauna en -flora. Onderweg zie je veel vogels, krabben, schaaldieren en veel unieke plekken omdat veel locaties die we tijdens de tour bezoeken niet toegankelijk zijn voor de bootbedrijven omdat hun motoren een enorme impact hebben op het milieu in het natuurpark. We reizen geruisloos, zonder nare benzineluchtjes en bieden daarmee het enige ecologische alternatief, zonder impact en met alle respect voor de natuur om het natuurpark te bezoeken. Naast al het bovenstaande vang je ook een glimp op van de schapcultuur, een getijdenmolen, het dorp Armona, Lagoa dos patos, ...

Het eiland Armona is een van de barrière-eilanden in het natuurpark. Met slechts 1 verhard pad en geen voertuigen is het een oase van charmante huisjes met prachtige tuinen, lange stranden en prachtige natuur.
Ons begin- en eindpunt. Gemakkelijk bereikbaar en met een grote parkeerplaats naast het strand. Dit kleine strand wordt omgeven door zoutpannen en de prachtige natuur van ria Formosa. Het ligt tegenover het eiland Armona en is gemakkelijk per kajak of SUP over te steken.
De Ria Formosa, die dient als een overgangsgebied tussen land en zee, is een uitgestrekt lagunesysteem dat zich over 60 km langs de kust van de oostelijke Algarve uitstrekt. Het heeft een oppervlakte van ongeveer 18.000 hectare. Het is de belangrijkste waterrijke zone in Zuid-Portugal en beschikt over een grote verscheidenheid aan habitats: barrière-eilanden, moerassen, zandbanken, duinen, zoutpannen, zoetwater- en brakke meren, waterlopen, kreupelhout en landbouwgrond; dit alles is ook gunstig voor een enorme verscheidenheid aan fauna en flora. De Ria Formosa is geclassificeerd als een waterrijke zone van internationaal belang en staat vooral bekend om zijn vogels. Het gebied is een winterverblijf voor vogels uit Noord- en Midden-Europa en ligt ook op trekroutes. Botanisch gezien is het bijzondere hoogtepunt de vegetatie op de duinen en in de moerassen. Het is een echte kraamkamer voor mariene soorten en het is ook een gebied waar tweekleppige weekdieren worden gekweekt.

The outing did not take place. The provider had forgotten. Very disappointing. Fortunately, Viator took charge and processed the refund immediately.
We absolutely didn't forget your visit. We simply didn't receive the request. We were called by the provider 15 minutes after the start of the activity. It is not serious to write a review without knowing all the facts. We are very sorry that your tour didn't happen but pointing your finger to the wrong conpany, is not what is not serious. Besides tripadvisor contacted us to ask if we wanted to refund completely. So the full refund was our decision, not tripadvisors. I hope that the rest of your holiday was more satisfactory and better arranged by your touroperator.
