Comuna 13 was slechts 20 jaar geleden een van de gevaarlijkste buurten in Medellin, maar het is getransformeerd tot een zeer kleurrijke levendige plek. De verandering begon toen de regering roltrappen bouwde in het gebied en zo het gebied verbond met de stad Medellin, in feite waren dit de eerste roltrappen die in Latijns-Amerika werden geïnstalleerd. We wandelen door de Comuna 13, genieten van de beste uitzichten, hippe straatkunst en maken ook de reis op deze buitenroltrappen. Ik heb het grootste deel van mijn leven in Comuna 13 gewoond en heb de verandering met mijn eigen ogen gezien. Ik laat je graag kennismaken met de lokale bevolking en verken de beste plekjes in de omgeving.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re visiting Comuna 13, do yourself a favor and book a tour with John. My group and I spent over two hours exploring the area with him, and it was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Medellín. John was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about sharing the history, culture, and transformation of Comuna 13. He didn’t just show us the famous murals and escalators—he brought the neighborhood’s story to life and gave us a much deeper understanding of the people who live there. What stood out most was how much he genuinely cared about making sure everyone had a great experience. He took his time answering questions, helped us with side requests, and made sure we never felt rushed. His energy, professionalism, and local insight made the tour both educational and enjoyable. By the end of the tour, I felt like I had learned more than I ever could from reading online or watching videos.
