Stap aan boord van een comfortabele pontonboot. In het gezelschap van een natuurgids, zult u op deze boottocht ontdekken waarom Ria Formosa werd gekozen tot een van de 7 natuurlijke wonderen van Portugal. En omdat de vogels een van de hoogtepunten van dit park zijn, verdienen ze speciale aandacht. Beschouwd als een van de belangrijkste wetlands voor watervogels in Portugal, tijdens de tour observeren we vogels zoals de White Stork, Little Egret en de Spoonbill. Steltlopers zijn het meest overvloedig vooral in de winter, hoewel vogels zoals de Whimbrel, de Turnstone en de grijze plevier een constante aanwezigheid zijn. Hier krijgt u de gelegenheid om een van de belangrijkste economische activiteiten in de Algarve te zien en ook zeer interessante soorten zoals de Grutto (Limosa limosa), de Scholekster (Haematopus ostralegus) en vele anderen.
De reis gaat verder naar de eilanden van het natuurpark via oesters en kokkels.
Hier krijgt u de gelegenheid om een van de belangrijkste economische activiteiten in de Algarve te zien, zoals clam-boerderijen en oesterbanken.
Naar het punt waar de lagune de zee ontmoet, stoppen we zodat u kunt genieten van dit kleine paradijs. Dit is een belangrijk reproductiegebied voor de Little Tern en de Kentish Plover. In de winter observeren we vaak de Grote Stern en de Grote Flamingo. De vermelde vogelsoorten kunnen variëren afhankelijk van de tijd van het jaar. Omdat ze in hun natuurlijke habitat zijn, kan Formosamar niet volledig de observatie van al het genoemde vogelsoorten garanderen.
De tour eindigt met een prachtig uitzicht op de oude binnenstad van Faro.

It was very interesting to look at the birds and some huge crabs in their habitat. We used binoculars to enjoy the view and not to bother the wild animals. The guides helped us to identify each bird and to spot the crabs.

We decided to go on this bird watching cruise at the last minute and it was the best decision we had made! Our guide Luis was so knowledgeable about the birds and the environment and made all of us in the boat most welcome. He also spoke in German and Spanish too! Excellent value for money!

Thoroughly enjoyed! Just the right length trip for us. We were pleasantly surprised to see so many different species (in the teens) and our guide was wonderful at spotting and pointing out everything to us. He was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining.

Really fantastic! Saw over 20 species through top notch binoculars and had a little stop over in the dunes. The guide was super knowledgeable about the birds and even provided the names in different languages. My highlight was seeing five spoonbills!!!

This was a great trip out into the tranquil Ria Formosa lagoon and natural park. We were lucky to see a variety of birds including highlights for me, the Osprey and Flamingo. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and the whole experience was relaxing and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this spring time trip.

An excellent trip. Carlos was really good and helpful, both for my wife who is fairly knowledgeable about birds and myself who am interested but I don’t know a lot. We saw many types of birds including an osprey. Carlos even took the effort to go right round the bay so we could have a closer view of the osprey and those with good cameras could take a photo.
