2 - Dagen, 1 - Halong Bay Discovery Cruise van Hanoi

Halong Bay is very beautiful. Unfortunately, the traces of mass tourism are clearly visible: Sales event on the transfer trip, garbage in the water and crowds at the usual excursion destinations. The Phoenix Cruise ship is average and comparable to the many other ships in the bay. The service is good and friendly, the food is delicious and the view from the cabin breathtaking. The daily schedule is planned to the minute, otherwise it is probably not possible with the many other boats. The daily routine of our tour differed in some respects from the description on TripAdvisor (e.g. karaoke instead of squid fishing). Communication in advance with the providers via TripAdvisor was very slow, sometimes 6 days without an answer to our questions about the tour. But in the end everything worked out.

Phoenix cruises ship was great. Small group. Food and service was great. We had a suite so it was perfect with a large terrace 2 lounge chairs 2 chairs and table.

The cruise itself was nice enough, nice room and food and Ha Long Bay was incredible. However there are hundreds of boats and cruise ships around which detracts from the experience.

Food, kayaking, and cave tours were great. They give you lots of food during the meals - you won’t go hungry and will have lots of dishes to try. The bedroom we stayed in was a bit worn down and the mattresses were hard. So definitely not a luxury room experience, but everything else on the tour was great so giving it a 4/5.

The value for money is really good, only flat it was really crowded and on the island of Ti Top there was so much crowding that it reminded me a little Disneyland, however there are a lot of people because it is really beautiful, the cave, the crazy views I loved. The boat was also very comfortable and the staff really cared for 10/10

we didn't expect so many tourists in the bay. enjoyed our boat with 14 guest. the meals were superb and plenty. staff were good and friendly.

Really excellent cruise with very attentive staff, and great value for money. No further words needed!

it was a great experience from the pickup in hanoi old quarter to the drop off back at the old quarter was a fully catered and cared for trip. the boat was clean and the accommodation onboard was quite spacious with all amenities . the scenery was spectacular (think post card perfect) . the guided walk through the caves was special with time for a swim at the next island or a climb to the top . the food onboard was plentiful and with great variety of dishes. the night was relaxing with a bit of squid fishing to while away the time. the ship was small enough for the quests to mingle over drinks and get to know each other.

The bay itself is really nice and we recommend spending 2 nights on a cruise. The staff was welcoming and the cabins were pretty. However, since in Vietnam there's no waste sorting and recycling, it would be much better if the buffet was organised differently and in a way where everyone can just take what they eat. On this cruise, lots of food was served on each table, way more than what one could eat and not even proportional to the number of people on the table. It goes without saying, much of it (even the untouched one) went straight to the bin together with plastic waste. On top of that, the cruise was advertising against the single-use plastic. Yet, water during meal times was served on plastic bottles. We know it's not the cruise'a fault for the management of the wast, but we hope that the company will change their way of doing and move to something greener.

A mass event with regulated meal times and group activities like a pensioners club. I would only come here privately and not book a tour anymore. On the bus ride here you are also forced to stop at an oyster farm to buy Klumpert.
