Dit is een geweldige kleine tour die je zo kort of zo lang kunt maken als je wilt. We raden ten minste een tussenstop van één nacht aan, zodat je een-op-een kunt krijgen met een lokale familie, een werkelijk geweldige Vietnam-ervaring (en we zijn er vast van overtuigd dat we dit met de lokale bevolking moeten combineren als je dat echt wilt). een gevoel voor het echte Vietnam)!

Het noorden van Vietnam is een prachtige plek om te bezoeken, en we raden je ten zeerste aan om daar wat tijd door te brengen. OK, een tour van de Ha Giang Loop staat misschien al op je radar, maar wat dacht je van een geweldige Vietnam Tea Tour – een tour die je meeneemt naar geweldige theeplantages diep in de Tay Con Linh bergen!
Ten eerste heb je een fantastisch landschap om van te genieten, met kronkelende bergwegen die uitkijken over diepe valleien vol rijstvelden. Verwacht om de paar meter te stoppen voor foto's…
Ten tweede krijg je het echte Vietnam te zien; schattige bergdorpjes met de lokale bevolking die waterbuffels over de weg leidt, kronkelende bergwegen met prachtige watervallen aan je linker- en rechterkant, en vriendelijke lokale bevolking die zwaait terwijl je voorbijrijdt...
Ten slotte bezoek je enkele lokale theeplantages, waaronder lokale Shan-theeplantages en -fabrieken. Als je in het seizoen bent, zie je misschien zelfs een aantal lokale bewoners thee plukken van de takken van de enorme Shan-bomen (ja, ze hebben zelfs klim omhoog en pluk bladeren van de bovenste takken!).

If you're hesitating booking this tour because there are a million choices, know that this tour is so incredibly special and in my opinion, better than the Ha Giang Loop. The last thing I wanted was to be part of a huge group, wheeled around to the same restaurants, in a hostel with other tourists. This is NOT that. We did a private custom 3 night tour with 1 night in Cao Bao mountain in a very authentic homestay with a pu'erh tea maker (dreams). This first day was my absolute favorite. If you don't have time for the whole loop I suggest doing one night here. The views were spectacular, we didn't see one other tourist the entire time. We had the best food (7 plate family style) by stopping at a homestay on the way, still think about that farm fresh food, and visited ancient tea trees, got invited to a H'mong wedding and tried some ancient tea, and even learned how to brew it on the fire & pack it in bamboo! I was able to buy tea directly from the tea maker as well, and was so beautiful to live with the locals for one night. The best part about this was that Hieu knows so much about almost everything lol. He knows a lot about tea because he's a tea exporter, and knows how to source clean quality leaves. This tour was born out of his own expeditions searching for high tea. He also learned all about growing coffee and practices health & wellness, and will not mess around with food. A curious guy! Hieu's wife also made us a spectacular meal after day one right before we headed on the Ha Giang loop, still thinking about these two meals, they beat the michellin's we had in Hanoi! We did 2 nights on the loop and saw really spectacular views, and stayed in really nice places. It was a lot of riding on the back of a bike, so be prepared for that! I loved that this tour was small/private as we really just chatted with Hieu & Two, learned a lot about Vietnamese culture, and FINALLY got authentic food we had been hoping for. Most importantly I felt so safe the entire time. We at first wanted to ride it ourselves but read all the blogs, and reddit posts detailing how dangerous this loop was. In the end we 100% made the right decision, was really nice just taking in the views and enjoying the ride. They never drove too fast, and anytime the road was weird I was able to walk (this happened on the first day not on the loop, because this area is very remote) This tour was the hardest trip planning decision we had during our 3 week stay, and by far was the highlight of our trip. In terms of affordability, the price was *the same* as those group tours, but you stay in a hostel, so why not support the small small businesses in Ha Giang versus the party loops?! If your goal is to connect with the locals this is IT.
