We had an outstanding experience with our Guides, Roger and Danilo. They were kind and personable and patient with our large group of 18 people ranging in age from 6-75. They made this a memorable and unforgettable experience and I HIGHLY recommend them!!! All of our interactions with TreXperience have been professional. THANK YOU for the education of the Inca culture, beautiful photos and experience of a lifetime!!! We want to come back!!
Roger and Danielo from TreXperience were a dream team! Roger came to our hotel in Ollantaytambo the night before we took the train to mile marker 104 (106 is closed due to avalanche). Roger debriefed us on what to expect for our 2 day Inca Trail & Machu Picchu hike. He was extremely organized, which in turn helped our group of 14 hikers to be organized (and stress-free). A delicious breakfast, prepared by Chef Placido, was set up for our when we got off the train. Fresh fruit, oats, breads, Peruvian eggs, coffee, tea, etc etc helped to fuel us up before we began our hike. The first 3 hours of the hike are strenuous, but Roger did a great job with motivating us and recognizing/understanding when we needed to take breaks to catch our breath and take in the scenery. Danielo followed the group to make sure we were all safe and both men did an excellent job informing us on the history of the trail and keeping our spirits/energy high. We stopped at Winaywayna for some unbelievable views and exploration of Inca ruins. Roger gave our group another history lesson (with breath taking scenery), while Chef Placido made us a delicious lunch, with fresh Peruvian ingredients. *There are bathrooms (squatty potties) at this pit stop. Bring your own toilet paper!* Chef boiled water for us to refill and we set out for the last leg of the hike. This portion of the trail was not as challenging as the first part, and provided much shade. More vistas and Jurassic Park-looking flora. Just magical. Hug the mountain side as some portions of the trail are skinny. And you cannot rely on any ‘railings’ to support or hold you. The monkey steps, aka ‘Gringo Killer’ were challenging, but also rather fun and energizing bc we knew we’re getting close to the Sun Gate. Roger and Danielo graciously held our hiking poles as we pushed up the steep steps. When you make it to the Sun Gate, your breath will be taken away, and perhaps a few tears will be shed. Roger is an excellent photographer, and will make sure you get all of the photos that you want (& even ones you didn’t know you wanted)! Exploring Machu Picchu at sunset was very special. That golden hour across the mountain peaks is magical. The next day, our group watched the sunrise at Machu Picchu with circuits 2 & 3. Roger & Danielo came prepared for all of our questions and group needs. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour! Thank you Roger and Danielo and Chef Placido!!
We did the two-day Inca Trail with TreXperience, with Frank as our main guide, supported by Raul. We had a wonderful experience on all fronts. The trek was nicely paced, the food was of good quality, and the guides were very attentive. Our daughter was unwell during the trek and Frank was amazing in terms of managing the situation. The overnight accommodation in Aguas Calientes was of a high standard, and again meal options were very good. The information provided by Frank on the second day when we toured the site was detailed and engaging, and the Vistadome rail experience made for a perfect end to the tour. Overall, our experience was very positive and we would highly recommend traveling with TreXperience, and in particular with Frank as a guide.
My daughter and I went on the 2 day Inca Trail hike with Juan José and Fernando as our guides. We had an amazing experience from beginning to end. The knowledge and experience of our guides was evident from the beginning, but their patience and kindness really shone through during the most difficult portions of the hike when I needed it the most! It was well-organized and well-timed. We were never rushed and we were able to manage the entire trek. We had absolutely delicious meals prepared by our talented cook Senchi. To actually be at Macchu Picchu was surreal—we tried to soak it in as much as possible. Juan José was able to teach us not only on the history of the Incas and the architecture and engineering of their settlements, but also of their culture and the current flora and fauna and culture, and how everything interconnects. It was all quite lovely, and I feel so happy to have gotten to experience this for my 50th and my daughter’s 18th birthdays. Thank you Trexperience!
JJ and Fernando were our tour guides for the trip and were both great. The trip was amazing and they did everything from start to finish to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. They had heaps of knowledge throughout the whole tour along the Inca trail as well as the site of Machu Picchu itself. 5/5
Frank and Raoul did a great job leading our group of 14 “clients” from all over the world. The logistics went off without a hitch (van pickups/delivery, 2 train rides, meals, the actual hike and 2nd day tour of Machu Pichu). It was overwhelming the quality and variety of food options of the 2 meals provided by the chef and his crew, considering it was on the Inca Trail in a jungle. TreXperience showed their professionalism and provided a once in a lifetime experience. The best part was the obvious dedication, knowledge, enthusiasm and love of their jobs by Frank and Raoul. Thank you for helping us “cross one off the bucket list”.
This was one of the best experiences of my life. Renato was our group’s tour guide and I have never had such a patient, kind, positive, and informative guide. I enjoyed every explanation he gave and learned so much thanks to him. Renato made this trip great beyond our expectations and I can speak for my whole group when I say I would recommend him to everyone who comes to Peru and wants to do the Inca Trail. Darwin and his team were also amazing. The food was delicious in every meal and they were so positive throughout the whole time. They carried our things and arrived before we even saw them. We are so grateful to Darwin’s team (Michael, Julia, Domingo) for their efforts and positive attitude. Overall, a 10/10 experience that I wish I could do all over again! Thank you so much, Renato, Darwin, Michael, Julia and Domingo!!!
This was one of my favorite adventures I have ever had! We saw the most beautiful views of the Andes on our way up to Machu Picchu, in addition ruins and stops I didn’t even expect. Ronato was an amazing tour guide. He had so much knowledge that he was excited to share with us and I learned a ton about the Inca empire and sacred valley. He had great energy and was very patient with our group, helping us take the best pictures. The food was absolutely incredible. Darwin made better food in the mountains than most could in a full kitchen. It was all very fresh with many options. I would definitely book this trip again and am grateful for a team committed to providing the best possible experience for Machu Picchu!
Incredible experience in Machu Picchu with some of the best views to enjoy both the mountains and the Inca remnants. Our guide Renato was very patient and gave us a lot of interesting lessons about the history of the Inca civilization. We enjoyed everything, the tours are coordinated and don’t feel very crowded when visiting the ruins. The length of both days was perfect to take lots of pictures and learn about the archeological sites.
Amazing tour and service. Renato has been an awesome Guide. And the chef, Darwin, made every meal feel like a michellin Star Restaurant.
