DAG 1 Lunch+diner inbegrepen Vandaag bezoekt u een Elsen Tasarhai-zandduin in het Hugnu Khan National Park. Berijd een kameel en zand. Bezoek een Ovgon-klooster om het uitzicht op het nationale park Hugnu Khan te zien. Overnachting in een Ger-hostel in Kharkhorin Traditioneel Mongools concert vóór een diner
Dag 2 Ontbijt + lunch Na rust in Ger hostel Khar Khorin beginnen we aan een ontdekkingsstadje. Om meer te weten te komen over een gebied. Na de lunch rijden we terug naar Ulaanbaatar Het Erdene Zuu-klooster (Mongools: Эрдэнэ Зуу хийд) [a] is waarschijnlijk het oudste nog bestaande boeddhistische klooster in Mongolië. Gelegen in de provincie Övörkhangai, ongeveer 2 km ten noordoosten van het centrum van Kharkhorin en grenzend aan de oude stad Karakorum,
Oude ruïne van de kloosterplaats waar u het hele uitzicht op het nationale park Hugnu Khan kunt zien.
Erdene Zuu Khiid werd in de 16e eeuw gebouwd met materialen uit de verwoeste stad, maar werd later zwaar beschadigd tijdens de stalinistische zuiveringen van 1937, toen de monniken werden gedood of naar Siberië werden gedeporteerd. Hierdoor ging het klooster volledig failliet tot 1965, toen het weer als museum mocht worden heropend, en daarna opnieuw als plaats van aanbidding na de ineenstorting van het communisme in 1990. Op zijn hoogtepunt telde het klooster 60 tot 100 tempels en 300 tempels. gers binnen de muren plus 1.000 monniken in residentie.
Dit kamp, gelegen nabij de zandduinen van Elsen Tasarkhai, is een populaire keuze voor toeristen. Het biedt zowel traditionele gers als moderne voorzieningen en biedt reizigers een uitgebalanceerde ervaring.

This wasn’t worth the money I paid for it and I can’t recommend it to others. I should have bought one of the cheaper packages from another tour company, but this one had glowing reviews. Although she was very sweet, the tour guide was very quiet and didn’t offer me a lot of guidance throughout my tour. When I asked about the turtle statue that’s supposed to be near Kharkhorin, the tour guide exclaimed that it was near the museum and “didn’t I see it?!” But she never pointed it out to me, and I wish she had. They did then drive me up to the top of the mountain to see one of the other ones. The next day at the Semi-Ghobi I was put on a camel and a man walked me to the first sand dune, took a photo of me, and then turned around- a whole 5 minute excursion. The tour guide argued with him about this, but he refused to take me out again and in the end the driver of the tour then took the camel and walked me around the sand dunes for awhile. The whole time I felt a little disappointed however at how little guidance I was given throughout my tour. I spent a lot of time listening to other tour guides, rather than the one I paid. It was really awkward.

I had an excellent time on this two day tour to Central Mongolia. Great to get out of the city and see Mongolia’s incredibly beautiful countryside. The roads are pretty bumpy, but our amazing driver did a great job of avoiding the major potholes. Jagaa was an exceptional guide. He has a fantastic knowledge of his country and his English was excellent. We were able to discuss all sorts of topics. He was flexible and accommodating, with great written communication before I arrived in Mongolia. The night in the yurt was comfortable and really warm. Shared bathroom facilities, but luckily a modern toilet. Phew! I would highly recommend this tour to anybody travelling solo. At all times I felt safe and well cared for, despite being the only person on the tour, and heading off into the Mongolian wilderness. A beautiful country to explore, and the guys at Danista Nomads Tours made that all possible. 🙏

Great trip to Kharkhoren at the end of a business visit to Mongolia, provided by Danista Nomads. The team of Saruul (guide) and Pugi (driver) were great - very cheerful throughout 800 km driving in 2 days. Saruul gave us some information, but not too much - she was well informed about history/culture, maybe a bit less so about wildlife. It was a pleasure to spend a couple of days with them. They were flexible about including a small extra visit to another location that I wanted to see. The only downside of this particular trip is that there's a lot of driving, but that's Mongolia for you. It's a big old country. We knew what to expect, and the views throughout the drive to Kharkhoren and back were always interesting. One other note - Jagaa kindly highlighted how we could save some money on our booking, which was much appreciated. Mongolia is a great country to visit, and thank you to Danista Nomads.
