Duiken in een cenote is als zweven in een ander universum. Het is alsof je evolueert op een turquoise planeet vol heilige geschiedenis. De kathedraalachtige stalactieten en stalagmieten die diep in het heldere, kristalheldere water duiken, zijn als meesterwerken! Diep cenote-duiken is toegankelijk vanaf niveau 2 of Advanced-certificering. Je duikt in grotten met al het meegeleverde specifieke duikmateriaal (lichten, wetsuits van 5 mm...). Rondleidingen worden gegeven met respect voor de hoogste beveiligingsniveaus met voldoende ruimte, altijd dicht bij een van de uitgangen en talloze luchtgaten. U heeft permanent visueel contact met natuurlijk licht. Een show en emoties zijn gegarandeerd! Afhankelijk van de bezochte cenotes, kun je miljoenen kalksteenformaties, fossielen, prehistorische botformaties, inheemse diersoorten en de halocline observeren. Deze divisies zijn alleen voor gevorderde open water of hoger gecertificeerde duikers (Open Water gecertificeerde duikers met een diepe certificering zullen ook in staat zijn om diep in cenotes te duiken).
- Duiken binnen 24 uur na het vliegen wordt niet aanbevolen. Alle deelnemers moeten voorafgaand aan het duiken een gezondheidsvragenlijst invullen. Sommige reeds bestaande medische aandoeningen (bijv. Astma, hartaandoeningen, enz.) kunnen ervoor zorgen dat u niet kunt duiken. Raadpleeg uw arts
- Het succes of falen van de activiteit is niet de verantwoordelijkheid van de gids of het duikcentrum. Zodra u het water in gaat en met de duik begint, is er geen restitutie meer mogelijk.

I was diving with Calypso in the cenotes Angelita and Dos Ojos and it was a great experience. Especially the deep dive into Angelita down to and beyond the cloud layer where a diver can feel like an explorer on another planet is something you probably experience not too often even with many ocean dives before. Unforgettable Cenote & Cavern Diving with La Calypso Dive Center Diving with La Calypso Dive Center was one of the most surreal and beautifully dive experiences I’ve ever had. This absolutely blew me away. From start to finish, everything was smooth, professional, and incredibly well organized. A massive shoutout to Rudy, who was an outstanding dive master. Calm, patient, and extremely knowledgeable about the cenote systems, he made the entire experience feel safe and relaxed while still being adventurous. His briefings were detailed and reassuring, and underwater he guided me perfectly through the cavern lines, pointing out stunning formations, light beams, and fossilized features I would have completely missed on my own. The cenotes themselves were breathtaking — crystal-clear water, dramatic light rays cutting through the openings above, and otherworldly rock formations everywhere you looked. It felt like flying through a hidden underground cathedral. Equipment was in excellent condition, transportation and logistics were seamless, and the pace of the day never felt rushed. It truly felt like a premium, personalized experience rather than a generic tour. If you’re in Tulum and want to experience cenote or cavern diving the right way — safely, professionally, and with a guide who genuinely loves what he does — La Calypso Dive Center is top-tier. Beautiful cenote dive with excellent guiding. The cenote itself was stunning and unlike any other dive I’ve done. The visibility, the natural light, and especially the distinct water layers made it a truly unique experience. Passing through the halocline felt like swimming through liquid glass, and the hydrogen sulfide layer below created an eerie, almost surreal atmosphere. It felt calm, other-worldly, and very memorable. Rubi guided the dive with real confidence and care. At the beginning, when the environment felt a bit overwhelming, he handled it smoothly and professionally, making sure everything stayed calm and controlled before continuing. His briefings were clear and well timed, and underwater he kept a steady pace while remaining very attentive. The dive felt well organised, safe, and never rushed. Rubi clearly knows these cenotes extremely well and knows how to help divers appreciate them without stress. A fantastic experience overall — both the cenote and the guiding made it something special. I would absolutely recommend diving here and would happily dive with La Calypso dive centre again.

We did six cenotes with La Calypso in June over three days. The shop was great to work with to schedule our dives and equipment needs in advance, including verifying our dive experience before traveling. The instructors were fabulous and made sure that we had no issues. The selection of cenotes was on point and we were often the first or only divers at each location which really sold the experience. 100% would book with La Calypso again!

We had a perfect week of diving with Alex and were so grateful we chose them as our dive company for our first trip to Tulum. We did three days of cavern diving, and it was a real once in a life experience. Our first time in fresh water, and caverns and truly a never before experience. Alex was so kind and funny, but serious and safe, we felt he was incredibly knowledgeable and our only regret is that we didn’t get more time together! Everything was professional and prepared for us daily and everyone was so polite.

20 dives in 2 weeks with 5 different guides. Always a very good experience with real professionals. July being in low season, half the dives alone with the guide .And when you are the first on site, the experience is at the top . I can only advise you to go through La Calypso.

I dived into this center six years ago and came back with confidence. I was not disappointed. I am a 3-star CMAS diver with more than 200 dives and the center really lives up to your expectations. They know how to organize trips for experienced divers as well as beginners. The cenotes are still magical. I made 4 cenotes during my stay in Tulum with Alex including an amazing dive in Angelita. Very good diving center. Quality material the instructors are very professional. I highly recommend Do not hesitate to discuss with them to define your diving program See you soon for another dive into the Maya subworld.
