Je hebt waarschijnlijk wel eens gehoord van Shibuya Crossing, maar ken je ook de achterafstraatjes van Tokyo? Tijdens deze fietstocht verken je het centrum van Tokio, slinger je door verborgen steegjes en krijg je inzicht in het lokale leven in Tokio. Tijdens deze fietstocht door Tokio bevind je je tussen de labyrintische paden van Tokio met een lokale gids en probeer je traditionele Japanse gerechten die niet in de typische restaurants te vinden zijn. Deze kleine moeder-en-poprestaurants en straatkraampjes serveren lokale ingrediënten met grote smaken, om je reis van brandstof te voorzien! Van eind maart tot begin april fietsen we meestal onder Sakura, kersenbloesem, bomen. Het moet een onvergetelijke herinnering voor je zijn. De Tour omvat verschillende stops en introduceert winkelstraten buiten de gebaande paden en straatvoedsel. Tijdens de Tour zie je een nieuwe kant van Tokio, rijdend door unieke oude winkelgalerijen en bezoeken. Tijdens onze tours laten we je graag de minder bekende delen van centraal Tokio zien.

Fietsen aan de oever van de Suida-rivier. Het staat bekend om de Sakura-bloemen in de lente.
Deze tempel maakt deel uit van Sensoji, gesticht in 595. Er zijn veel afbeeldingen van een "daikon (Japanse radijs)" en een buidel in de tempel. De daikon vertegenwoordigt onze geest gevangen in diepe onwetendheid, die gif van woede uitstraalt, maar door een daikon aan de tempel aan te bieden, wordt dat gif verwijderd uit onze lichaam en ziel. De buidel is een symbool van een schat en vertegenwoordigt het geschenk van voorspoed in het bedrijfsleven.
Opgericht in 1063, dit heiligdom is nu een "Power spot", dat populair is voor personen die geliefden of huwelijkspartners willen. (Power Spot = Heilige plaats)
Fietsen parkeren bij de tempel en binnen wandelen.
Japanse traditionele ambachtelijke snoepwinkel. Je kunt zien hoe ze snoep maken, die zo artistiek zijn.
De brug over de Sumida-rivier oversteken met prachtige landschappen.
Fietsen onder de Tokyo Skytree.
Verouderd winkelcentrum waar je het dagelijkse leven van Japanners kunt zien.

Gentle bike ride through some interesting residential streets and stopping off to visit quieter Temple and Shrine and to view Sky tree from various perspectives. Excellent guide full of local knowledge.

Excellent tour. Location is easy to find, an office in a residential area, up a flight of stairs. Tour guide speaks excellent English and is very polite and has great information. Went to several temples and he explained the local customs/traditions to me. Long tour. Bike is very comfortable. 10/10. Sorry for the late review. I should have done it long ago. I really appreciate the tour and the memorable experience.

September 2024: Our guide, Takeshi, led my husband and me through the vibrant streets of Oshiage and Asakusa, as well as along the beautiful Sumida River. The experience was truly wonderful! We also made a quick stop at some temples and shrines, where Takeshi provided insightful explanations about Japanese culture and religion, which we greatly appreciated. He took plenty of photos during the tour and shared them with us via email within just two hours. A tip for those taking the summer morning tour: don’t forget to apply a generous amount of sunblock! Takeshi also provided us with bottled water before the trip. Overall, this was a fun and memorable way to explore Tokyo. I would rate it 10/10!

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. Takeshi was a wonderful guide and explained so much to us about Japanese culture, Tokyo's history as we rode through, and the trees and flowers we saw. Fantastic way of exploring and learning a little bit more about Japan. The ride through the narrow streets, visiting some of the shrines and temples while learning a little bit about them and interacting with some of the locals at the traditional and original shopping mall was all bliss and very fun. This is definitely a good start to your journey of Japan! The tour guide was also very accommodating and he also takes good pictures and teaches you about Japanese culture. Highly recommend!
