Bezoekers verzamelen zich eerst bij de ingang, waar deskundige gidsen een introductie geven over de geschiedenis en betekenis van het kasteel. Wanneer ze het kasteelterrein betreden, lopen bezoekers door prachtig aangelegde tuinen en waarderen ze het zorgvuldige ontwerp en de seizoensgebonden schoonheid. In de hoofdburcht beklimmen gasten steile en smalle trappen en verkennen ze verschillende verdiepingen die ooit dienden als opslagruimtes en verdedigingsposities. Ze leren over de ingenieuze verdedigingsmechanismen, zoals schietgaten en verborgen gangen, die het kasteel tijdens zijn legendarische verleden hielpen beschermen. Bezoekers verbazen zich ook over de ingewikkelde houten constructie en het ingenieuze architectonische ontwerp. We had an amazing time exploring and learning with Ryuji! He was very knowledgeable and friendly, a fantastic guide!
My guide, Rie was exceptional. She was extremely knowledgeable and was able to point out things about the castle that I would never have known or could even find on my own. Her knowledge, gained from decades of being a guide at the castle is unsurpassed. I never felt rushed and she was happy to take pictures if I wanted some. I would recommend this guide to anyone wanting to know the history of the castle and o appreciate a fuller understanding of what you are experiencing as you walk through the various level of the castle.
Ryuigi was great. He recommended a good restaurant before the tour and waited patiently when we were a few minutes late. He then adjusted very well when we told him that we had to cut the tour short. The tour itself was perfect - he had solid knowledge of the site, explained things in an interesting manner at the right level of detail, and helped us avoid the crowds (which were huge). I would highly recommend this tour and Ryuiji specifically.
Our guide was just fantastic!! We had great communication from him prior to meeting him on the day. When we did meet, he was so polite and charming and his knowledge was just incredible. His understanding of and his spoken English was terrific. We didn’t have any trouble in talking with him and throughout the visit we had a lot of laughter together. He knew his way around the castle extremely well, advising on little things like where to mind your head or where was slippery. We really appreciated that. As I said, his knowledge on the history of the castle was just incredible He made the difference to our visit and made our day a memorable one. We really will never forget it.

Ryuji was prompt, personable and very knowledgeable. He explained the history of Himeji Castle clearly and answered all our questions. He added some personable bits about the city as well. And he was fun to spend 2.5 hours with. A lovely man and we really enjoyed the tour and his company

Excellent tour!! Ryuji did a great job and knew all the best places to go and things to see. He answered our many questions and was very entertaining. Took extra time to show us a specific item that we asked about seeing. Highly recommend both the tour and Ryuji as a guide.
