Konnichiwa (Hallo) uit Hiroshima! Deze tour omvat alle must-see plekken in Hiroshima in slechts één dag, en loopt van ongeveer 9:00 tot 16:30 uur. We maken in principe gebruik van het openbaar vervoer (treinen en veerboot / GEEN eigen auto), omdat we willen dat u hier geniet van de lokale levensstijl. Onder leiding van een lokale gids met diepgaande kennis van de geschiedenis van Hiroshima tijdens de oorlog, ervaar je het authentieke verhaal uit de eerste hand. Een hoogtepunt van de tour is Itsukushima Shrine, beroemd om zijn prachtige torii poort die lijkt te drijven op de zee bij hoog water. Dit iconische heiligdom, diep verbonden met de Japanse Shinto-traditie, is een van de mooiste en meest gerenommeerde bezienswaardigheden van het land. Naast het bezoeken van de beroemde sites van Hiroshima, nemen we je mee naar verborgen lokale plekken die verband houden met de atoombombardementen die alleen bekend zijn bij de lokale bevolking – plekken die je niet op internet zult vinden. Luisteren naar wat er in 1945 gebeurde en hoe de stad nieuw leven is ingeblazen.
Een bezoek aan Peace Memorial Park waar alle Japanners komen bidden voor de vrede.
Een bezoek aan een van de must-go musea om de echte dingen te zien die in de oorlogstijd werden gebruikt, en om de echte verhalen te kennen.
De gids neemt je mee naar het eiland genaamd Miyajima. We bezoeken het Itsukushima-heiligdom en de Kiyomori-souvenirstraat waar u kunt genieten van veel lokale gerechten en bier. Misschien wordt dit de plek om te lunchen!
Naar een van de populaire plaatsen gaan om te bezoeken, waar je de Tori-poort boven het water Itsukushima-heiligdom kunt zien.
We gaan met het openbaar vervoer terug naar het station van Hiroshima, of uw hotel in de stad Hiroshima waar u gaat verblijven.

Naomiさん is an excellent guide, who answered every one of my questions with an enthusiasm that made me want to learn more. Moreover, her connection with the locale made for a more personal experience at an okonomiyaki restaurant, one I will not soon forget!

I have done several Viator tours but I felt this did not meet their standards. Did not go to any additional places like they said. We only went to the Dome, Museum and Island, no special places. I think it was expensive because you did have to pay for transportation. (bus, train, ferry)

We booked this tour for our day in port from the cruise ship. It was the perfect mix of activities, including a fantastic lunch between the Peace Park and the island. Tommy was a great guide and was flexible in letting us add a few stops and try some local foods. Fantastic day in Hiroshima.

The communicstion with the tour company leading up to the day of the tour was exceptional. We experienced delays on the day of the tour, our doing but the tour company went above and beyond to assist in connecting us with our tour guide, Rena. Rena was great in making sure everything was looked after before leaving on the tour, including lockers for our backpacks. Rena was a knowledgeable guide and because of our tardiness was flexible within the tour schedule by switching to cabs (our cost, our suggestion) instead of trains which shortened travel time. Found us a great restaurant for lunch and during our travels made suggestions that allowed us to sample Japanese cuisine. Would not hesitate in booking another tour with this company and would happily have Rena as a guide.

Our tour of Hiroshima was an unforgettable experience, thanks to our incredible guide, Yuta. He navigated the heavy history of the Atomic Bomb Dome and the Peace Memorial Park with immense grace and respect, providing deep historical context that brought the stories to life in a way a guidebook simply can't. What truly made the day special was that Yuta took us off the beaten path to some lesser-known, serene areas that were absolutely breathtaking.
