1900 Storm op het Strand Ghost Tour

Galveston heeft een gruwelijk aantal plotselinge sterfgevallen gezien. Een goddeloos aantal dierbare overledenen van het eiland, nou ja, nooit vertrokken. Hun geesten liggen elke dag op de loer in de schaduwen, steegjes, trappen en besluipen de Strand! De historische 19e-eeuwse gebouwen aan de Strand zijn spookreservaten geworden en de geesten binnenin staan te popelen om je te ontmoeten. Ga met ons mee op onze 90 minuten durende wandeltocht terwijl we de fascinerende paranormale gebeurtenissen op het strand, de oorspronkelijke straat van horror, verkennen. Orkanen, oorlog, brand en epidemieën! De piraat Jean Lafitte veranderde het eiland zelfs in een dievenhol. Galveston heeft meer geesten dan enige andere stad in de VS. Als je 's nachts loopt, zweven doorschijnende figuren langs de ramen. Er zullen plotseling schaduwen verschijnen en objecten bewegen uit zichzelf als we dichter bij elkaar kruipen, want ze zijn wederzijdse bescherming. We weten nooit wat ons om de hoek te wachten staat. Pas op en wees bang! Galveston is tenslotte niets anders dan 'een begraafplaats met een strand eraan'.

Op zijn hoogtepunt zag dit treinstation meer dan 40.000 mensen per dag op weg naar de bars, casino's en bordelen van Galveston. Een ingenieur met de naam William Watson vermaakte de passerende menigte door handstanden te doen op het veescherm van de motoren. Op een ongelukkige dag gleed hij uit en werd onmiddellijk onthoofd. Een derbyhoed zat nog stevig op het hoofd dat ze anderhalve kilometer verderop vonden!
Zoveel hoogwaardigheidsbekleders, soldaten, politici en zelfs presidenten hebben ingecheckt... maar sommigen hebben nooit uitgecheckt. Op de trappenhuizen en in de gangen klinken huilende snikken. Een soldaat uit de burgeroorlog marcheert op en neer door de lobby zodat iedereen het kan zien. Een kleine jongen speelt in het hotel waarvan wordt beweerd dat het de geest is van een kind dat buiten de voorkant van het hotel is overreden. Een behulpzame geest zal zelfs voor je uitpakken!
Charles F. Coghlan, een beroemde Britse acteur, zeilde naar Galveston om het podium van The Grand Opera House te sieren. Maar de arme Charles stierf voordat het gordijn ooit werd opgetrokken. Wat te doen met het lichaam van deze gedistingeerde bezoeker? In afwachting van het antwoord vernietigde The Great Storm het eiland en droeg Charles 'doodskist naar zee. Het dreef van Galveston naar Prince Albert Sound voordat het uiteindelijk landde... ongeveer anderhalve kilometer van waar Charles van plan was met pensioen te gaan.

Went on the tour last night with my family and a random couple who happened to book at the same time! Thomas, our guide, was HILARIOUS, and he did a great job including everyone as he told the story and cracked some jokes along the way. He’s very knowledgeable about the history, great with imagery and storytelling, and open to comfort accommodations (some stops, we were given opportunities to sit down). I was honestly sad when the tour ended, because I felt like our group (yes, my family, thomas, AND the strangers!) had all bonded with a story between us. I wouldn’t have any other guide for this tour, and I’d LOVE to come again.
