We spent a full day exploring Kyoto with Tammy on a private tour, and it ended up being one of the best parts of our trip to Japan. She made everything run smoothly and kept it genuinely enjoyable from start to finish. We started at Konkani-ji Temple, then headed to the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and Tenryu-ji Temple. Tammy really knows her stuff. she shared interesting history, cultural bits (many unspoken rules), and little stories that made the places feel more alive instead of just another tourist stop. From there we went to Togetsu-kyo Bridge, Fushimi Inari with all the torii gates, Yasaka-no-to Pagoda, and a few other spots along the way. Lunch was a highlight. She picked a place that worked for our picky eaters, and everyone left happy. It was a nice break and showed how much she pays attention to what her guests need. What we appreciated most was how she paced the day. She kept the walking reasonable and built in enough rest stops so the Kyoto heat didn’t wipe us out. She checked in regularly to make sure we were doing okay but still managed to cover a lot of ground without it feeling rushed. Tammy was informative without dumping too much on us, very friendly, and professional. If you’re looking for a private Kyoto tour that hits the main sights while actually taking care of you, Tammy is excellent. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide.

Yoshi, our guide, was extremely professional, prepared, knowledgeable and friendly. He helped us navigate between the must-see Kyoto sites effortlessly using bus, train, tram, taxi, and uber. He knew just where to capture pictures away from the crowds and where to stop to take in key historical details of the sites we visited. We were able to see so many more places and learn so much more with him by our side. We even got to choose amongst three options for our final site of the day so the tour felt more customized. He also made our whole family feel very welcome and answered at least 100 questions of all sorts from our 13 year old son. Would highly recommend for any first-time visitor to Kyoto.
This is a very efficient tour to see many of the most popular stops in Kyoto. In order to see all the most famous attractions you probably need at least a few days but with only one day this is a great option. Our guide Taka was outstanding and made for an amazing experience. He was very knowledgeable and spoke great English. I highly recommend this tour

Yoshi was my guide. He contributed to make my day in Kyoto truly memorable! He was very caring, thoughtful, kind and fun, beside being very knowledgeable and thorough about the history and cultural background of all the places we visited. I would book another tour in a heartbeat and I can’t recommend him and this tour enough 🙂! It was easy to meet up, get around between taxi (and Yoshi took good care of calling them), trains and buses. We didn’t really have to wait for the admission at any of the places we were going to visit. Lunch was excellent and overall Yoshi was very considerate and attentive. Although I indulged in taking several pictures, we made it good in time throughout the tour. It really felt like spending the day with a local friend ☺️
