Geïnteresseerd om met ons mee te gaan op onze epische 10-daagse Nieuw-Zeelandse reis van Auckland naar Wellington? Vernoemd naar de Hihī, onze zeldzame inheemse honingeter, neemt deze tour je mee naar de niet te missen bestemmingen en verborgen juweeltjes van het Noordereiland die alleen de lokale bevolking kent. Start in Auckland, de bruisende City of Sails, met een welkome ontmoeting en een wandeling aan het water, graaf dan dampende zwembaden bij Hot Water Beach voordat je de zeebogen van Cathedral Cove kajakt en bijtankt met een klassieke Kiwi BBQ. Tour Hobbiton, trek Karangahake Gorge, geniet van Rotorua's sequoia's en geothermische geisers in Kuirau Park. Dompel je onder in de Māori-cultuur bij het Aniwhenuameer, kijk naar de machtige Huka-watervallen, geniet van de verborgen warmwaterbronnen van Kerosine Creek en verover vervolgens de vulkanische kraters van Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Wikkel je avontuur in Wellington's creatieve cultuur: Te Papa Museum bezoeken, Mt Victoria zonsondergangen, Cuba Street cafés, en Courtenay Place buzz. - Tourprijzen zijn gebaseerd op quad share (behalve bij Whakahoro, dat is 6 delen). Twin of Single tour pakketten zijn beschikbaar, maar deze upgrades zijn niet van toepassing op Hahei waar accommodatie quad share is.
- Er is een vegetarische optie beschikbaar, informeer op het moment van reserveren indien nodig
- Reisverzekering: niet inbegrepen bij deze tour. Het wordt sterk aanbevolen dat passagiers hun eigen verzekering hebben om zich te beschermen tegen ziekte, letsel, verlies / beschadiging van persoonlijke bezittingen en onvermogen om te reizen op de bevestigde vertrekdatum
- Bagage is beperkt tot één tas of koffer per persoon (maximaal 15 kg) plus een dagpakket om aan boord te hebben met uw waardevolle spullen. Het vervoer van overtollige bagage is naar goeddunken van Stray en moet voorafgaand aan de reis worden goedgekeurd.
- Afwijzing van reiswegdiensten: reisschema's zijn correct op het moment van afdrukken, maar de exploitant behoudt het recht om de route of het reisplan indien nodig te wijzigen. Soms worden wijzigingen aangebracht om het product te verbeteren of door wijzigingen aangebracht door partners / leveranciers. Als een product, dienst of activiteit zoals beschreven in onze reisroute wordt gewijzigd, wordt waar mogelijk een geschikt alternatief aangeboden. Onderdelen van onze reis zijn weersafhankelijk en de Operator kan niet aansprakelijk worden gesteld als bepaalde componenten niet beschikbaar zijn op de dag van de reis.

Romeoo was our bus driver and he made the whole experience so much fun, telling stories of town origins, Maori legends, and fun facts about New Zealand as we traveled across it. Stray was a great choice! Especially the activities at Blue duck station and lake aniwhenua!

I did the north island with Stray and loved it. Rollex was my driver and went out of his way to make sure everyone had a great time. Also loved the Stray exclusive stops :-) Would definitely recommend.
We went on North Island trip with Stray. We could not compliment and praise our driver/tour guide/ time keeper/host Seagull enough he made the whole trip a wonderfull, well paced experience. We felt most welcome in the group for the first 3 days of 14 people, the next 7 days 20 people. Well done Seagull, well done Stray
I've never been a big fan of backpacking. I dredd the thought of living in hostels and out of a backpack. BUT; my travel with Stray Journeys has changed everything. What laced in luxury and comfort was compensated with adventures and fun. From the first day we had long and adventures days. From early morning to far into the afternoon. I really can't pick out one favorite day.
Great value for money! They are true to their “off the beaten track” slogan. We had amazing experiences, good commentary by our drivers and saw places we wouldn’t have found on our own. The drivers were very considerate of passengers needs and took good care of us. We always felt safe. New Zealand does not disappoint!
I have two perspectives on this trip. The trip itself and itinerary were good that enable me to cover all major touristy attractions on the North Island with many optional activities. Our tour guide Daniel, AKA “Snow Flake” is a very knowledgeable and interpersonal guide. He took care of every member, our group was very lucky to have him as our guide. Thought, the itinerary could use some improvement, some lodging arrangement could be better, for example, a shower facility with windows intact, so the guests don’t freeze to death while trying take a shower. On the flip side, booking the trip via Viator, that was probably the worst experience that I’ve ever encountered around the world. I booked the trip over the internet for the departure date indicated on the website. Email from the Agency notified me, the departure date was not available, and suggested another date. I went back on the Viator site tried to re-book the trip for the departure date provided by the agency. However, Viator’s website does not have this type of functionality programmed into their site. Therefore, I had to call the Viator representative to book the tour for the date provided by the agency, that call took well over half hour. Then, two days prior to my tour, the local tour operator notified me that the departure date was incorrect, the correct departure date is the first booking departure date that was rejected by the agency. Now, on top of that half hour took over the phone, I had to spend the next four days to resolve this issue so I would not loose my valuable holidays stationed at one location without any agenda. Agency finally came to a solution and resolve this problem, nevertheless, it was a very stressful, and nerve wreaking. To add salt to the injury, I incurred hundreds of dollar expenses in order to change my follow-on flights and hotels that were pre-arranged when my second booking was confirmed by the agency. In conclusion, I hope that was an isolated event, for sure I would think twice to book a tour via Viator.
