Eerst gaan we Shinjuku 3-chrome bezoeken, waar je authentieke lokale teppanyaki-restaurants kunt ervaren en je maakt je eigen "Okonomiyaki" en "Monja-yaki." Geniet van het heerlijke eten en drinken terwijl je je onder de vriendelijke lokale bevolking begeeft. Dit is een geweldige manier om het echte nachtleven in de oude binnenstad van Tokio te ontdekken.
Vervolgens gaan we naar Omoide Yokocho. Dit smalle steegje staat vol met meer dan 60 kleine bars en restaurants, waar heerlijke Yakitori, Motsuyaki en andere lokale specialiteiten worden geserveerd. Je kunt genieten van de warme en vriendelijke sfeer van de plek, een praatje maken met de lokale bevolking en een verscheidenheid aan drankjes proeven, van Sake en Shochu tot bier en whisky. Dit verborgen juweeltje zal je reis naar Tokio onvergetelijk maken.
We bezochten een levendige Japanse arcade waar zowel kinderen als volwassenen zich kunnen vermaken! Van het spelen van Taiko Drum Master die leuke foto's maakt in Purikura-stands, racen in Mario Kart, tot het ervaren van de sensatie van Wangan-autoraces - het was de perfecte plek om samen te genieten van de speelse kant van Japan. Shinjuku Golden Gai is een unieke drankwijk in de Shinjuku-wijk van Tokio. Het heeft meer dan 200 kleine bars verpakt in smalle steegjes, elk met zijn eigen persoonlijkheid en thema. (alleen van toepassing als de tijd het toelaat)
Na de speelhal gingen we naar een plek waar volwassenen kunnen genieten van Japanse sakeproeverijen — met selecties uit verschillende regio's in Japan — terwijl kinderen (en ook volwassenen!) zich kunnen vermaken in de zoveelste Japanse snackbar. This tour was the perfect way to explore Shinjuku. We visited places only locals know, tried awesome Japanese pancakes, yakitori, and even did sake tasting. Our guide Juri was incredible — her English was excellent and she explained so much about the culture and the area. We asked her everything and she always had an answer. Such a great introduction to Shinjuku! Ps loved the Whattsapp contact prior!

Our entire family - ages 6 to 46 - had an incredible night. We went to three delicious places we never would've found on our own, and Shuhei was a delight to hang out with for the evening. He expertly led us around, helped us find the food we wanted, and entertained the kids for hours while the adults enjoyed the great food and drink. Cannot say enough good things about this tour and about Shuhei specifically. If you're visiting Tokyo from afar, and enjoy food, this is a must do.

We had a really lovely Tour guided by Maho. The Food was truely tasty. Maho gave us the opportunity to get to know Tokio from a different perspective. Our guide Shuhei was awesome! Very articulate punctual and full of information! The food was interesting, spots we would not have found. My only complaint having done other food tours in other cities is that there were only 3 stops. I would have preferred smaller bites and more locations.

This was definitely a great cultural experience with our 2 teen boys. We got to learn a bit more about what teens in Japan do, like photo booths and go to a dedicated “snack” restaurant. I do feel it was a bit expensive for only one meal being included and paying out of pocket for the rest.
