Wist je dat in Cholula de piramide met de grootste basis ligt? Wist je dat de Spaans probeerden Puebla te worden in de hoofdstad van de Nieuwe Kolonie? Het betekent dat de stichting van de stad tegelijkertijd die van Mexico-stad was. Ontdek en sta versteld van deze prachtige koloniale stad uit de 16e eeuw. In deze tour verken je een archeologische zone en in Puebla stad verken je de belangrijkste straten in het centrum. Deze tour eindigt met het bezoek in het 5 de Mayo forten gebied. De pick-up zal zijn bij uw accommodatie in Mexico-stad. De transfer naar Cholula heeft een duur van 2 uur en een half.
Sinds onze aankomst in Cholula zullen we de Grote Piramide van veraf zien (de grootste piramidebasis ter wereld) en de beroemde gele kerk op de top genaamd de Maagd van de Remedies Kerk. Onze eerste stop is het kleine museum met originele stukken uit de archeologische zone en een historische introductie. Daarna bezoeken we het archeologische gebied waar zich de altaarvelden en de overblijfselen van de verschillende stadia van de piramide bevinden.
We verhuizen naar het centrum / historische centrum van Puebla stad waar we deze prachtige koloniale stijl zullen bezoeken die begint na de val van de Azteken onder leiding van de Spanjaarden. Hier bezoeken we de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden.
Dit is een populaire plek en favoriet voor toerisme die het handwerk wil zien of kopen. Duizenden producten die je kunt vinden en de meest populaire is talavera.
We vervolgen onze weg wandelend over deze straat waar zich verschillende snoepwinkels van traditionele en beroemde Puebla's snoepjes bevinden. U krijgt een proeverij van deze snoepjes zoals camotes (gemaakt met zoete aardappel) of borrachitos (gummies met alcohol) en honderden snoepjes. Ook bezoeken we een talavera's werkplaats waar je kennis maakt met het proces van deze kunst.
Wandelend door deze kleurrijke en vol levende straten bewonder je de verschillende karakteristieke bouwstijlen van het koloniale tijdperk na de Spaanse komst. Veel zaken op straat. We komen aan in Zocalo (het belangrijkste plein) waar zich de prachtige tuin, de fontein bevindt. Dit is een populaire ontmoetingsplaats en rondom zijn er vele restaurants. We kunnen deze keer lunchen.
We bezoeken het hoofdgebouw in de zocalo met 70 meter zijn torens. Deze bouw begon in de 16e eeuw. Het is een van de belangrijkste eigendommen in het historische centrum, uitgeroepen tot een World Heritage Site. Binnen zult u zich verbazen over de koepels en het architectuurontwerp.
We zullen een kort bezoek brengen om de eerste openbare bibliotheek in Latijns-Amerika te bewonderen, gesticht door de Spaanse bisschop Juan de Palafox y Mendoza in 1646.
Het laatste gebied dat we zullen bezoeken is de plaats waar de 5 de mayo battle was. In deze heuvel zijn er 2 forten en meer gebouwen in onze moderne tijd. Zelfs een kabelbaan. Vanuit dit gezichtspunt kunnen we het centrale deel van de stad zien en als we een heldere hemel hebben zelfs de vulkanen.
De terugkeer naar uw accommodatie in Mexico-stad begint.
Afhankelijk van de dag en het tijdstip van de rondleiding kunnen we deze prachtige kapel uit de XVII eeuw open vinden en bedekken met goudmetaal

This was an excellent tour! Ruben was our guide, and he was fantastic!! He was very knowledgeable and gave us great details on Cholula and Puebla. Both cities are beautiful, and we learned much about the Cholula pyramids. Ruben was also very flexible with our itinerary. He took us to an authentic Talavera store where they make the pottery and helped us to purchase some authentic pieces for our home. We looked at several private tours before selecting this one, and we made the right choice!

Our guide Rubén was excellent. He explained the archeological site of Cholula very well; it was extremely interesting both for our adult son who has a BA in Archeology, and for my wife and I, who don't. The walk through Puebla was well organized, and Rubén was attentive and helpful any time we expressed an interest in seeing more of some particular thing (local abstract artists, talavera tiles, coconut candies. The restaurant that the tour reserved for us in Puebla had excellent mole poblano.

Our tour guide Roberto was very informative about the place he went to. he made sure to give us time to explore puebla as some places were closed as it was a monday. got to see many beautiful churches. puebla is such a beautiful city. he took very good care of us! would really appreciated if the archeological zone was compensated in a way as that was part of the tour:)

Excellent tour that started at my hotel in Mexico City. Roberto picked me up in the morning and we drove to see the Pyramid of Cholula and also Our Lady of Remedies Church. Next we went to Puebla where we had an amazing time visiting the historic center, the Puebla Cathedral and the Capilla del Rosario. A highlight was the Biblioteca Palafoxiana where a magnificent music performance was occurring in the courtyard! We had a wonderful little lunch at a local spot and later headed back to my hotel in Mexico City--a truly delightful day!!
