1-daagse rondleiding door het stenen bos en de Jiuxiang-grot

Het prachtige landschap van het Stone Forest Scenic Area werd in 2007 op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO geplaatst. Deze attractie geniet een grote reputatie, zowel in China als in het buitenland. Het Yunnan Stone Forest Park, ongeveer 90 km ten oosten van Kunming, is een zeer populaire toeristische hot spot. Door de gigantische omvang van het park is het toch mogelijk om minder bezochte en afgelegen gebieden te vinden, vooral in de zonnige wintermaanden. Vind je eigen weg door het doolhof van enorme stenen pilaren!Daarna bezoekt u de schilderachtige regio Jiuxiang Yi en de autonome gemeente Hui in Yiliang County, op 45 minuten rijden van het Stenen Woud. Het is beroemd om zijn karstgrotten (ongeveer 100 in totaal, waarvan er meer dan 60 worden verkend), bergen, rivieren, diepe valleien en minderheidsgebruiken en culturen. Deze tour omvat nogal wat trappen. Voor veiligheid en comfort is het mogelijk niet geschikt voor jonge kinderen of reizigers van gevorderde leeftijd.

1,5 uur in de auto naar een van Yunnan grootste wonderen, het Stenen Woud in Shilin County. Weer en tijd hebben een massief karstlabyrint gevormd dat aanvoelt alsof je door een bos loopt, met eeuwenoude stenen bomen die op je neerkijken. Elke rotsformatie die je passeert heeft zijn eigen ontroerende verhaal of spannende legende, doorgegeven door de inboorlingen die al eeuwen in dit gebied wonen. De inboorlingen behoren tot de Sani minderheid, een tak van de Yi etnische minderheid, die je nog steeds in het park kunt vinden, samen jammen met het zingen van volksliedjes of het maken van borduurwerk.
Later zien we een ander kunstwerk gemaakt door de natuur, de Jiuxiang Caves, onderdeel van het grootste grottengroepensysteem in China, met rivieren, kloven, watervallen, bossen, natuurstenen bruggen en alles wat je je in een sprookjesland kunt voorstellen. Betreed de grotten via smalle groene canyon en zie de ingang van de grotten verborgen in de bossen van bovenaf als je er overheen vliegt in de kabelbaan. De chauffeur brengt je daarna terug naar Kunming centrum (ongeveer 1,5 uur) en zet je weer af bij je hotel.

- Kinderen moeten worden begeleid door een volwassene
- De dagelijkse werktijd voor chauffeur en gids tijdens deze tour is maximaal 10 uur per dag. Overuren worden extra in rekening gebracht.
- Gelieve slechts één kleine en handige dagrugzak / handbagage per persoon mee te nemen. Grotere koffers of rugzakken kunnen niet worden meegenomen op deze dagtocht.

We went on a one day tour from Kunming to see the stone forest and the caves, incredible sights to see. I can highly recommend it. I contacted Katherine a couple of weeks before to ask if she could organise a driver for us for the day. We started on email first and switched to we chat. She was super helpful and so professional. Always very quick to respond and very accomodating. Thumbs up!! I can highly recommend her if you would like to book anything in Yunnan. Everything was detailed beforehand. Pick up from hotel etc. You can plan individually. We had a driver called Hao. He was very very friendly and helpful telling us exactly how to get the tickets. You can decide how long you want to stay at each place. Probably better to allow quite a bit of time for the stone forest as the area is huge.

Wonders of Yunnan was truly amazing! Throughout the entire journey, my guide was very professional and talkative, and even shared the story of Ashima during the visit to the Stone Forest. The car was also very comfortable, making it a highly enjoyable travel experience.

The natural wonders were incredible but our guide was really supportive of our enjoyment, taking us through quite areas where we could appreciate the stones without the noise and hub bub of the mass of photographers. Authentic place for lunch serving plentiful amounts of tasty local food. Was a great day out
