Hemelse uitlijning : De meest unieke eigenschap is de Equinox zonsopgang, een hemelse gebeurtenis waarbij de zon perfect op één lijn staat met de centrale toren als deze opkomt. Dit gebeurt rond de lente-equinox eind maart en de herfstequinox eind september. Oud ontwerp : De bouwers van de tempel richtten Angkor Wat opzettelijk naar het oosten om het leven en de goddelijke energie te symboliseren, met behulp van nauwkeurige metingen om deze astronomische uitlijning te bereiken tijdens belangrijke tijden van het jaar. Reflectie en symboliek : De zonsopgang is bijzonder opvallend wanneer men kijkt vanaf de reflecterende vijvers voor de tempel, die de structuur en de lucht perfect weerspiegelen. Deze reflectie heeft religieuze betekenis, symboliseert het evenwicht tussen de kosmische oceaan en de hemel.

Angkor Wat is de grootste en beroemdste Khmer-tempel, gebouwd in de 12e eeuw, tussen 1113 -1150, tijdens het bewind van Suryavarman II. De tempel is 65 meter hoog en wordt omringd door een grote gracht [Ko Tek]. De buiten- en binnenmuren zijn bedekt met verbazingwekkende bas-reliëfs.
PRASAT BAYON of ANGKOR THOM is een tempel in boeddhistische stijl gebouwd in de late 12e / vroege 13e eeuw door Jayavarnam VII. Bayon heeft 54 torens die de 54 provincies voor en tijdens het Khmer-rijk vertegenwoordigen. Er zijn meer dan 200 lachende gezichten uitgehouwen op de 54 torens. Bayon was een bloeiende hoofdstad, maar werd helaas in 1811 beschadigd door Cham-indringers.
Chau Say Tevoda is een tempel in Angkor, Cambodja. Het ligt net ten oosten van Angkor Thom, direct ten zuiden van Thommanon aan de overkant van de Victory Way. Gebouwd in het midden van de 12e eeuw, is het een hindoetempel in de Angkor Wat-periode. Het is opgedragen aan Shiva en Vishnu met unieke soorten vrouwelijke sculpturen van devata's erin vastgelegd.
PRASAT TA PROMH, gebouwd aan het einde van de 12e eeuw door Jayavarman VII, werd in 1186 opgedragen aan zijn moeder. Oorspronkelijk had deze tempel een boeddhistische achtergrond, maar later werd deze omgebouwd tot hindoe, dus sommige boeddhistische galerijen werden vernietigd en vervangen door hindoeïstische symbolen zoals Yoni en Lingam. De locatie is 1,5 km van Bayon via de Victory Gate. Ta Promh staat bekend om de bomen ("Spung" genoemd) die sterk omhoog groeien, op en over de muren van zandsteenblokken.
Ta Nei is een laat-12e-eeuwse stenen tempel in Angkor, Cambodja. Gebouwd tijdens de regering van koning Jayavarman VII, is het in de buurt van de noordwestelijke hoek van de East Baray, een groot heilig reservoir. Het was gewijd aan de Boeddha.
De South Gate is een van de vijf grote ingangen van de oude stad Angkor Thom, gebouwd in de late 12e eeuw en is de best bewaarde en meest beroemde poort. Het staat bekend om zijn indrukwekkende dijk die bekleed is met beelden van goden (deva's) en demonen (asura's) die een naga trekken, evenals een poorttoren met vier gezichten vergelijkbaar met die bij de Bayon-tempel. Deze poort dient als ceremoniële en defensieve ingang, en de dijk is een populaire plek voor foto's en het begin van olifantenritten naar de stad.

Angkor Wat sunrise tour was amazing. Easy pick up, great service and a good price. My wife and I went with our two young daughters, one of whom was a little ill and wilted in the heat. Our guide was amazing with the kids, keeping them motivated, adjusting the itinerary to suit their ability and even took us home early so we could finish the tour with him the following morning (an unplanned second day, after the kids had a chance to rest). The temples are amazing and the guide was really knowledgeable and keen to share local insights. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

We had a lovely trip. We started today at 5 30. Arrived at the temple entrance at 5, 45. I traveled with my wife and two children five and ten years old. My five-year-old, I carried on my shoulders most of the time. it was still warm, but it was a lovely time to see the sunrise rise behind the temple. We had a lovely tour guide, Mr K. He arranged a short abbreviated tour of the temple. He provided a well informed background of the region and history beyond just the temple which was very informative. He was willing to go longer, but we had to keep it short because the kids were starting to get a bit Restless. We return to the hotel around 7, 30. Highly recommend climbing the tour. Kids were not allowed to the climb the tower which was very sharp. The stairs would be very difficult if someone was injured or have trouble walking. If your traveling to Siem Reap the temple is a must

The tour with Mr K and our private driver was a fantastic experience. We had the opportunity to visit the amazing Angkor Wat along with a few other temples.
