The trip was great, the Chinese guide Michcle was great, the instructions were detailed and the drive was steady. The tour guides of the various attractions were very enthusiastic and led us on a tour, not only the introduction of the attractions, but also some popular science and history knowledge, the children listened carefully, It's been a very happy journey!!!
The bus trip to the perisher mountains is great, the perisher mountain itself is amazing. The food is a little pricey but expected. The bus drivers are professional at their job The only areas where this tour might need a little more improvement is communicating a little bit more clearer when we arrive at perisher, particularly when most of the passagers maybe a little groggily after a night on the bus. Overall however, a worthy trip.
This was easily one of the worst day tours I’ve ever joined. It started with the bus departing 15 minutes late from Central Station at 11:00pm, followed by a 20-minute wait on the outskirts of Canberra to swap drivers. Around 5am, our two buses (about 100 tourists) were taken to Snow Gate motel — a remote stop where everyone was basically forced to hire or buy gear. There were only three staff trying to fit, hire, and take payment for everyone, so we lost nearly three hours there. Many people were first-timers and unaware of prices — they were charged $110–$120 for poor quality gear. Goggles and gloves cost almost double the price compared to shops in Cooma or Jindabyne. We finally got to Smiggin Holes just before 9am and were told to return by 2:45pm, leaving us only 5.5 hours on the snow instead of the 7 hours advertised. The return was even worse. The stop at Snow Gate for gear return and a toilet break caused nearly an hour’s delay due to only two ladies’ toilets. Then staff claimed 5 or 6 jackets were missing, adding another 10–15 minutes. The driver’s English was poor, which led to confusion about toilet and dinner breaks. We were meant to return to Central Station by 10pm, but didn’t arrive until 11pm. I’ve contacted Brighton Coach several times, but they haven’t followed up.
the 1 day perisher trip is a great way to experience the snowy mountains. the trip drops off at smiggin holes but there is a free smiggin-holes to perisher and return bus shuttle, its 5mins +5mins so 10 mins return and it starts at 6:55am, so smiggin holes to perisher is 5minutes. alot if info on the internet is old. the ciach is heated, the drivers are safe, in fact they have three driver changes, roughly 1.75 hrs each driver, we took two kids (6 &8) , they handled it well. it beats driving there tired at night or at the crack of dawn yhen having to drive back at night. better to sit back and relax on the coach drive back. there is a stop at Marulan BP station, subway is closed but coffe and cake shop and conve ice store is open we just ate before leaving home, so did toilet stop instead. we go to the ski hire at around 5am, there was a bit of delay heading to perisher, i think we were.supposed to leave at 6:30am or so, but the other day trippers (full coach of 54 i think) for what ever reason were slow with there ski hire, we just hired boots and 1 toboggan, i didnt want to carry too mant things. if you are going to book a ski lesson, dont book for 8:30am, we arrived at around 8:45am. just like plane connectiins leave plenty of time, maybe book a 9:30am or later lesson etc fo my family we had lits of fun. smiggin holes and perisher an in fact the entire ski fields was snow covered and we had a a fe wsniq showers, awesome! the ciach trip provided sandwiches and tea amd coffee, so that was well recieved by me, i was hungry. thats another plus for me. food up at the sniw fields is exxy, so budget double the usual cost, eg bacon and egg roll is $18, tea is $10. etc but the trip is great, carry a light bag have snow jacket or rain jacket or parker and wesr layers. next time im wearing my wellington boots :) you can leave yoyr shies etc on the coach, but it gets locked, best to keep valuables with you. on return trip, it was busy traffuc, there is a stop for 45mins at Goulburn to have dinner, maccas is the usual goto, home to central station around 10:30pm. ther eis a parramatta pickup and drop off too, easy as.coaches are clean and heated, seats recline, reasonable leg room and overhead storage, all just like on a plane. driver gave us water bittles too. worth the price considering petrol, snow chains, natoonal park day pass, finding parking and general driving around. i booked with discounts, its now even cheaper when i looked when i got home.
My first experience with all my friends and beautiful place and having a great time. Thanks for the coach drivers giving us a great services smoothly drinking safety.
It was convenient way of going to the snow for one day. I felt like it was a waste of money to rent the skis being a beginner, but it I had a good time
