Valley of the Kings in Luxor — FAQ
What is included in a Valley of the Kings ticket?
A standard ticket lets you enter three tombs from a rotating selection; the tombs of Tutankhamun, Seti I and Ramses VI require separate special tickets. Guided tours usually arrange entry and explain the highlights.
Is Tutankhamun’s tomb worth the extra ticket?
For Egyptology fans, yes — King Tut’s tomb still holds his mummy and is famous as the only near-intact royal tomb found. It needs a separate ticket on top of the standard entry.
How long do you need at the Valley of the Kings?
Plan about two to three hours to visit the included tombs and the highlight tombs; it’s usually combined with Hatshepsut’s Temple on a West Bank morning before the heat builds.
