Wildlife Rescue Center e Punta Uva Beach & Jungle Hike

We only did the Jaguar Rescue centre. Not the full day tour. So this is actually just a review of the Jaguar Rescue centre. It is a fantastic Rescue and rehabilitation centre for wild animals that have been hurt, abandoned or raised illegally in captivity. Great information and interesting stories about the "permanent residents" who they can't rehabilitate back into the wild for one reason or another.. Very good guide (Ale), who really gave a great tour. Well worth it, and also good to know we are supporting this great work.

We chose to visit after reading about the incredible work JRC does. The staff is dedicated, knowledgeable, and truly inspiring! They share heartfelt stories about each animal’s journey and are deeply committed to releasing healthy animals back into the wild. I highly recommend visiting JRC—it was a wonderful experience, and every ticket helps support their mission! The Punta Uva Beach and Jungle Hike was equally fantastic. We saw mama and baby sloths, monkeys, birds, a variety of vibrant flora and fauna, and stunning beaches. Once again, our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Great job—highly recommended!

Absolutely not recommended. We tried to book on the homepage. The request was pending until arrival about 6 days. On site, we personally asked the counter in Punts Viejo again and deposited data. Without reaction

The two experiences were very different but both amazing. The work that is done by the Rescue Center was so interesting and heartwarming. Johnny was our guide. He has volunteered there for years and a perfect combination of humorous, informative and passionate. We were changed. Our Punta Uva hike was guided by Fernan. He was supposed to just be our driver but was great as a guide. Bit of a challenging hike for us old folks but so fun and again, informative

This tour was awesome! Booking the trip with Genesys was easy and she was personable and professional. Our guide Adrian definitely exceeded our expectations. His knowledge of the area was unbelievable and his sloth finding skills were so impressive. 😲 👍👍

We ended up booking 4 different tours with Caribe Fun Tours while staying in Punta Cocles and loved all of them. The guides - especially Shiloh who was our guide for this tour - were great. The best part of this tour for us was the Punta Uva beach hike and the number of birds/wildlife that we saw walking around that beach and to the lookout spot. Loved it! Would definitely recommend using Caribe Fun Tours while in Puerto Viejo area.

Loved this! Great things they are doing at this rescue center, it’s amazing to be part of the solution. Highly recommend to visit and meet all the animals!

The Wildlife Rescue tour was great—I learned a lot about efforts to save rescued animals. And the animals themselves are both beautiful and adorable (sloths, turtles, deer, toucans, parrots, a margay cat, a caiman alligator and more). The trip to Punta Uva beach was beautiful, but I don’t think it’s worth spending extra money to add that to the itinerary. It’s easy to do on your own.

What an awesome tour. The visit through the Jaguar Rescue center wasn’t just a quick look around a local zoo. Instead, the guide described the rescue & release efforts of local animals back into the wild. After the educational tour through the Jaguar Center our guide, Adrian, led us along the coast on an easy to moderate hike. The hike lasted over an hour. Adrian pointed out a sloth, educated us on local tree formations, taught us about coral reef formations in Costa Rica, & so much more. The experience was very interactive & I would easily give it 5/5 stars!

An excellent half day excursion; throughly enjoyed the Jaguar rescue centre although be prepared to potentially not see any jaguars. They only show the animals that cannot be released due to their physical conditions or because they spent too long in captivity. I think it’s an excellent facility that clearly does some crucial work in rescuing and rehabilitating animals here on the Caribbean coast! The tour guide for the rescue centre was really knowledgeable and very engaged. The guide we had for the rest of the trip, Robert, was also very knowledgeable when going on the hike and we had a lot of fun along the coast (even in the rain!). I would 10/10 recommend this excursion and using this company.
