Whitewater Rafting Fiume Sarapiqui Classe 2-3 Fortuna a San Jose

Don’t miss out! Our teenagers are already talking about doing it again we return!! It started with a little hiccup related to the pick-up time, but once on the van everything was smooth selling from there. The driver was very nice. Upon arriving at the River, we were met by Felix and Enrique (safety & photo guy). Felix was an excellent guide throughout the trip: rapids, swimming, riding on the nose of the boat, jumping off the cliff, fruit stop, and spotting out different animals. Once back, we were provided towels, outside shower, and changing room. The lunch was fabulous and fresh! We were shown our photos and purchased for $30 (sent via link). We boarded the van back with John who was very knowledgeable of Costa Rican history. We saw hydrangeas, coffee plantations, waterfalls, cheese/strawberry wine stop, toucans, etc! This was the best activity of our trip!!!

Amazing experience! I was very nervous of this activity but I let our guide, Joel, know, who took every precaution and kept an eye on me, and my partner who had a knee injury. Joel, was very kind to us, clear instructions, good energy that infected us and helped us integrate more when passing the rapids. Also, Joel helped us to find local fauna so we could observe it 🙂 We had a break, and in that time we got fresh chopped fruit, it was a great detail. I highly recommend doing this activity and especially if this is your first time practicing it (as was my case), ask Joel to be your guide 🙏🏼😃

We really loved Desafino for rafting! We had a blast and we felt safe the entire time. The crew was super attentive and took amazing photos, and the lunch and fresh pineapple was delicious. The rapids were so fun — we did Class II-III on the Sarapiqui river and it was so awesome. Plenty of action and adventure but also time to chill. We saw monkeys and sloths. It was so cool! Highly recommend.

This was a wonderful late morning of rafting with Desafio Adventures. We’ve done a fair amount of rafting in the Pacific NW, and the level of professionalism from Felix and David (our guides) exceeded many of the Pacific NW guides. The equipment was all top-notch, and the safety briefing was very comprehensive (there were two first-timers in our raft). The river itself was very fun with enough 2-3 or 3+ rapids and slack water to make it very enjoyable. There was a lot of wildlife too - herons, egrets, iguanas and howler monkeys - along the way, plus a stop for fruit and then a very nice lunch at the end of the trip. Would definitely recommend this trip!

My mom and I had such a great experience white water rafting with Desafio! Julio, our driver, was amazing- he was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Our rafting guides, Ranol and Felix, were also so friendly and amazing! We had such a fun time rafting down the river.

We had a great time: very welcome, very friendly and warm people, beautiful place and rafting with sensations. The meal was also very good (special mention to fresh pineapple juice 🥰). We loved this moment and I can only recommend 1000%!

We had a wonderful morning whitewaterrafting down the Sarapiqui river. The safety advice and instructions were really thorough but delivered in a fun way. Our guide Wilson was brilliant and made the trip really exciting and fun. Lots of tips on rafting and lots of wildlife knowledge. The 2/3 rapids were completely fine and didn’t feel too rough so would definitely try the 3/4 rapids next time. Lunch was included and had a vegetarian option. Well worth the money and a really good memorable experience. Definitely recommend 🙂

A group of 15 girls did this activity for a bachelorette and we had so much fun! The instructor rodlan was the best, they explained everything and felt very safe!! We would do it again! Highly recommend

Smooth pick up and return from La Fortuna. The drive is a bit over an hour to get to the base. The river tour with guide David was excellent, besides making the rapids a lot of fun to go through, he also pointed out a lot of animals along the river. We were accompanied by our photographer (and safety backup) in a kayak. Break at half way with fresh fruit and an excellent lunch at the base (with showers, changing rooms and towels provided) rounded out the experience. Pictures were well worth the $30 price to keep the memories of the trip.

We had an outstanding time with our guides, driver and photographer. Emanuel "Fluffy" was our guide on the raft - he was super positive, knowledgeable, funny and seemed to really enjoy his role as a guide. He pointed out lots of birds and plants, shared a lot about Costa Rica's history and agriculture and one big highlight was when he spotted a sloth and a monkey up in the trees. The degree of difficulty was perfect for our 10 and 12 year olds and he really got them into the flow. The snack stop was great with watermelon and pineapple and a chance for everyone to jump into the river. We ended the trip with a terrific lunch alongside a terrific Desafio team. Big shoutouts to Cheeky (our driver) and Marcos (our photographer and safety guru). They were so great to be around and Marcos really made our time on the river fun.
