Waves Hawaii Surf School a Kihei Maui

Booked a private surf lesson for my husband. He’s never surfed before, is 58 years old, and he absolutely loved it! Everyone at this company was super friendly, the instructor was fantastic, and he wants to surf again! The company also rents surfboards, which is great! Definitely recommend!

Eddie was a great teacher. He had our 10 year old granddaughter surfing within the first 15 minutes which is a real accomplishment, given the fact that we live in Texas nowhere near the water. Waves Hawaii Surf School exceeded our expectations.

Friendly patient and dedicated in getting you surfing! Both my teenage kids were surfing on their own in a few minutes of lessons.

This was everything we'd hoped it would be. Very conscientious and fun staff. We were all first timers and had a blast Book it.

Awesome time, group of 4 young adults. It was super easy and fun for beginners. Really great instructor! Everyone was really nice.

Sophie and Jessica were fabulous. They were friendly and encouraging and made learning to surf easy. My 11 year old had a permanent smile on his face. They taught us how to get up on land and then took us out in the water. They maneuvered the boards into place for us and told us when to paddle and to get up so we could focus on technique rather than timing at first. As we improved they let us figure out the timing a bit more independently while still helping my 11 year old to paddle back out rather than exhausting himself with paddling. It was a great way to spend a morning.

This was such a fun way to spend a morning! Both my daughters (16 and 9) were up on the board and surfing on their first try. Sasha was a great instructor and made sure they had a blast. Parking was super easy and convenient; the photographer got great photos and was also a helpful presence in the water if my younger one needed a push back out into the waves. Easy shore location for others to watch, video, etc. Would definitely do this again on a future trip! The only change I would make would be to start as early as possible. We booked a 930 lesson, which is the busiest time in the water. After we booked they offered us 730, saying the waves and crowds would be better, but we declined it. That was our mistake, but even so the girls loved it!

We had a great time learning to surf. The whole family all did amazing. The instructor was great with our 9 year old. Would highly recommend this school.

Excellent instructors! Attended a group session. Taught us how to lay ourselves on the board, the steps to stand up, and good surf stance before taking us into the water. They’ll help with timing the wave and give you a push to get you started off. Remember to keep your eyes up, and you’ll be surfing on your board in no time! Board, shoes, and rash guard provided. Thank you guys for such a great day on the water! 🤙

Loved it. This was my third time surfing and loved the experience. Instructor ( I think his name is Sam) was amazing. He was calm and patient with me and let me learn it at my pace. I thoroughly enjoyed the Surfing experience and recommend Waves for anyone looking for Surfing lessons. The entire staff is wonderful.
