We did the full package, and overall it was a beautiful experience. One of the biggest advantages was not having to worry about transportation. They picked us up directly from our hotel, handled all transportation between the different sites throughout the day, and dropped us back off afterward. It made for a very relaxing and convenient experience, and we were able to simply enjoy the scenery. The reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars comes down to communication and a few logistical issues. First, during our hotel pickup, our driver unexpectedly pulled over to the side of the road and stopped. We sat there for at least 10 minutes at around 4:30 a.m. with no explanation. Eventually our tour guide arrived, and only then did we realize we had been waiting for them. A quick heads-up from the driver would have gone a long way, as sitting on the side of a highway in the dark without any communication felt uncomfortable. The other major issue was the lack of water or beverages throughout the day. Aside from coffee and tea offered at the office before the hot air balloons, no drinks were ever provided, and we weren't told in advance to bring water. We also weren't told where we could purchase any along the way. Spending up to nine hours on a tour without anyone offering water or mentioning where to get it was surprising and, honestly, disappointing. There were also a few moments where clearer communication from the tour guide would have improved the overall experience. That said, the destinations themselves were absolutely stunning, and the itinerary ran smoothly for the most part. With better communication and more attention to basic guest comfort—especially something as simple as water—this would easily have been a 5-star experience.
We had a lovely morning flying with Vuelo Alto in Teotihuacán. Everything was very well organised and the staff were very friendly and professional! We felt very well looked after and the views were spectacular.
We had an amazing morning flying with Volando Alto !! Spectacular views from above Teotihuacan, as well as from the ground watching the balloons go up. The entire crew was amazing, and everything was explained in Spanish and English, which made it even better !!
We had an amazing ballooning experience. Lot of fun. Super friendly and helpful staff and careful and efficient. The view was fantastic. Early morning was well worth it.
Very good experience, the balloon is very safe and comfortable, the weather was good, and they offer you coffee and tea while you wait for the trip
Great experience! They were very nice and made everything easy.
Everything was great- we used our own transportation and the group was very communicative. Our guides were knowledgeable and the salon where you wait is clean and nice.
The balloon ride and tour of Teotihuacan are experiences of a lifetime. Everyone at Volando Alto was very kind and professional. My family had an amazing time. It was a highlight of our time in CDMX.
This was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Pickup was seamless, and our driver Miguel was professional, safe, and made the early morning easy. Coffee and tea were offered before the ride—while mine could have been hotter, the gesture was appreciated. The hot air balloon ride itself was absolutely breathtaking. Floating over the pyramids alongside dozens of other balloons was surreal. Huge credit to the entire crew—our captain and especially the ground team, who were incredible (definitely tip them!). Breakfast in the cave was the only low point. The setting was nice, but the food was limited and underwhelming. Still, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. By the time we reached the pyramids, we were exhausted from the early start, but our guide Susana M. completely turned things around. She was engaging, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate—making the tour fly by and leaving us wanting more. A special shoutout to Paul, the photographer/videographer, whose energy made capturing the day fun. I didn’t plan to buy photos, but they turned out fantastic and were worth it. Overall, every part of the experience was handled with care and professionalism. Don’t let the price stop you—this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
There are basically 4 sections in each of the baskets. Four adults can comfortably fit and be able to move and see freely. At the last minute, they put in a 5th adult so then I was back to back with him and next to my husband. I literally almost had a panic attack and told the guides I was very uncomfortable. They didn't care. I shuffled around my husband to give me more space but the other baskets only had 4 people or had small children. FIVE ADULTS IN ONE SECTION IS TOO MANY! This really annoyed me and I told the guide again after but he just made excuses. The guide, Susana, for the pyramids was fantastic.
