Itinerario
Il tour inizia in Plaza de Zocodover, il cuore della città. Qui vi fornirò un'introduzione storica a Toledo, raccontandovi la sua importanza come capitale del Regno Visigoto e il suo affascinante mix di culture. Approfitteremo di questa piazza per collocarci nel contesto della città medievale e preparare così la strada per le tappe successive.
Da Zocodover, cammineremo fino all'Alcázar di Toledo, una fortezza che è stata testimone di numerosi eventi storici, tra cui la guerra civile spagnola. Qui vi parlerò della sua origine, del suo ruolo difensivo e di come si è evoluto nel corso dei secoli. Dalla spianata si gode anche di una vista spettacolare sulla città.
A questo punto, faremo una breve sosta davanti alla Chiesa dei Gesuiti, dove spiegherò la sua architettura barocca e la sua importanza storica a Toledo. Come per l'Alcazar, non entreremo all'interno, ma conoscerete la storia e il simbolismo dell'esterno.
Continuiamo il nostro viaggio verso la Chiesa di Santo Tomé, un eccezionale esempio di architettura mudéjar a Toledo. Sara is awesome. The tour should be redesigned - likely increased in length to allow for a look inside a few places. Current format provides great historical background and context and some exploration (e.g. “we are now in once was the Muslim quarter”) but I would suggest going inside the Mezquita and going inside the most important synogogue even if it’s just for 10 minutes each before ending with the Cathedral.
