Appuntamento con la nostra guida alla biglietteria del sito archeologico e inizio della visita guidata. La durata è di 2 ore e mezza circa. Paestum fu fondata all'inizio del VII secolo a.C. da coloni Greci provenienti da Sybaris con il nome di Poseidonia per onorare il dio del mare. La ricchezza della città è documentata dalla costruzione avvenuta tra il VI ed il V secolo a.c. di grandi templi greci i cui resti si sono ben conservati sino ai giorni nostri. Tra i pezzi di inestimabile valore storico e artistico conservati nel Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Paestum, ci sono le lastre dipinte della cosiddetta Tomba del Tuffatore, unico esempio di pittura di età greca della Magna Grecia.

Durante la visita guidata di circa due ore si potranno visitare alcune delle rovine, architetture e monumenti meglio conservati del mondo greco, come il Tempio di Poseidone (Nettuno), il tempio di Cerere e la Basilica, risalente al 6 ° secolo.
Nel Museo Archeologico si può ammirare la Tomba del Tuffatore, un magnifico esempio di pittura greca, che rappresenta un banchetto funebre. La tomba raffigura un giovane che si tuffa nell'acqua è considerata una delle più grandi scoperte archeologiche del 20 ° secolo.

Fantastic private tour of Paestum archeological park with our guide Mario. Very informative and he was clearly passionate about his work and sharing this. Really added to my visit to learn about the history etc. really worth getting a guide to help add to the experience.

visit with family and friends on Sunday, May 16, 2021, we found a wonderful site, kept in excellent condition. Both the ruins and temples and the vegetation of the site were well cared for in one with the professionalism of our guide Adele gave us a magnificent day of nature and culture. The adjacent area with restaurants, bars and souvenir shops is also well maintained, closed to traffic
