Pickup a little chaotic. Tickets stated leaving time of 7:55am with check in starting 15 mins earlier. The guide turned up at 8:10am, got us all on the coach then at the second pickup announced that the coach was over booked and 11 people needed to get off and move to a different coach. Other than that everything else was great. It was well organised and we had a friendly, knowledgeable guide, Fernando.
The tour was in English and included a pick up and drop off from a bus stop c1km outside city center. There were two guides, ours was Anna. You can tell she loves what she does - she was brilliant and enthusiastic about the whole experience. The walk itself is beautiful and we appreciated the guide’s knowledge about history and construction as we walked. It wasn’t boring as you might expect. We saw animals - vultures, mountain goats (including little kids) and a fox. The boardwalk and the bridges are scenic and worth it alone. The walk including start to end point came in at 6.5km for us. It’s not challenging and pretty flat. If you can walk that distance over a few hours you’re sorted. Go and book this. It’s great value and a stunning place outside of the city center.
Excellent trip, well worth the hour drive to get into Malaga. From stepping off the bus to returning to the bus we clocked five miles.
Wasn't sure if my booking was successful as it was last minute but had no need to worry. Turned up at the meeting point to find a huge group of people waiting and my name on the list. We were whisked off in a coach - all very well organised. I won't give away any spoilers but suffice to say, this was an amazing thing to do and I'm so pleased I went. My knees and hips did ache badly for a day or so - mostly from the steep steps and hill walkdown at the end so, if you're not very fit or have really really bad knees, I wouldn't recommend it. It's a lot of walking, many steps and lots of uneven ground. It is incredibly high but if you don't suffer from vertigo to any great extent, then you will feel totally fine. Good walking shoes, water and the ability to keep up with your group leader so the vultures don't get you!! ;-)
Best is if you walk alone or in smaller groups, I did that a few years ago, it was amazing!. Now my friend and I went in a larger group, the leader went way too fast, we didn’t have time to stop or shoot properly, could not experience all the beauty without being pushed or disturbed by other groups. We did not even stop to read the signs with descriptions or information about different parts of the path. The leader was in a hurry and everything felt like a transport route when it was over. Another leader during the bus trip fumbled a lot in English. The experience did not meet our expectations.
Very scenic hike with a fantastic guide! Christian (aka Chris) was funny while being very professional. Words of advice- check the weather for the area first. Pay attention to the wind rate. It was much colder than expected, especially because of the wind. Most of us were caught off guard and were very cold.
It was amazing. I did feel a little trepidation as a 75 year old but loved it! So don’t hold back if you feel you would like to give it a go? Go for it!
Beautiful walk. Really worth it. Beautiful nature, good information about surroundings, flora and fauna that our guide, Claudia
