In questo tour saliremo in cima alla favela insieme ai residenti dove il turista sentirà il clima della favela facendo un giro dei vicoli e dei vicoli dove viene raccontata la storia della favela. Proprio all'ingresso della favela è il luogo in cui sono state registrate alcune scene del film Fast and Furious 5. Parti di Elite Squad 2 sono state anche girate nella comunità, per non parlare dell'elenco di artisti che hanno visitato il luogo, come le pop star Michael Jackson e Madonna, così come personalità come Alicia Keys, Vin Diesel, Hugh Jackman, Jason Statham tra gli altri. La vista dall'alto della favela è incredibile! Sugarloaf, Urca, Corcovado, Ipanema, Copacabana e altri ancora, tutti visti contemporaneamente.

A great way to see how 50% of Rio live and a far cry from the beaches of Copacabana. Despite the minimal living space and rudimentary facilities there is a n order to how things work in the Favelas. Our guide Leonardo was great and for those concerned with the security aspect we felt safe and people were unerringly polite. We’ll worth doing. Santa Marta is one of the smaller favelas so you can cover it in a couple of hours and there is a funicular that transports you to the Chapel at the top…then it’s all downhill.

The view from the favelas was what I liked the most. I recommend other visitors to visit only one favela as we did on this tour.
